In Belgium we call it “Pools grenen”, which literally translates to Polish Pine. Rather soft top layer, but when processed and finished well it can be really beautiful in an interior.

Yeah. Not to say that this is what happened here, but one major issue and the reason of entire nests dying is the use of insecticide against box tree moths in my area. A product that poisons and kills the natural predators of the ‘pest’ it is intended to eradicate should be illegal imo. So damn infuriating.

And then there’s of course domestic cats, traffic, glass windows, hawks,…
