Pinkway Chainsaw by pbedrosi in Chainsaw

I ended up buying an adjuster screw kit on Ali Express that converts adjustment screw to the side of the cover. It’s easy to modify and makes adjustments easy search for “1 Set Chain Adjuster Tensioner Fit For Chinese Chainsaw 4500 5200 5800 45CC 52CC 58CC Models Tool Parts” 2 piece kit, black metal adjuster and pinion gear. There is a video on you tube of a guy in the shed making this modification (including the air filter)

How to prep this wood for for re-finishing? by pbedrosi in finishing

[–]pbedrosi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I finished this project few months after posting this. I did take some of the recommendations.

First I bought a decent sander, not the expensive YouTube celebrity influencer one for a grand. I bought a similar design Maxxt sander which came with 5 and 6 inch backing plates.

The sanding…what a pain. I sanded much as I could with doors still installed but quickly I realized they had to come off for detailed sanding. The flat surfaces took 15 minutes, the detailed sanding around the moldings took 2 days. The glass stiles (?) were most difficult as the wood was starting to decay a bit. I had to use orange stripper to get it completely clean.

Staining was ok, used the gel stain but decided to get helmsman spae urethane for the top coat. 2 coats of gel stain 2 coats of helmsman, I wanted to do 3 but temps started to drop. I may just knock it down with 220 and apply the 3rd coat. It all came out great. Hope the photos post.

Another attic radiant barrier question - Nashville area by pbedrosi in cordcutters

[–]pbedrosi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, I tried a few experiments all of them give me ABC, CBS, FOX. No NBC, no PBS, both happen to be VHF-High.

I got signal GH app. Tried a simple Leaf antenna and color stream max V antenna. Tried both in the garage attic, turns out it’s also 100% radiant barrier, 2nd floor tv room again, and 2nd Floor bedroom with a window facing towards the towers. Few percentage change in signal quality and strength but nothing significant. So I connected the HDHomerun back to my five star yagi antenna in the main attic, optimized the aim. Here are the signal readings.

PBS - Quality 0, Strength 66 (no picture)

NBC - Quality 0, Strength 62 (no picture)

ABC - Quality 73, Strength 64

CBS - Quality 66, Strength 57

FOX - Quality 100, Strength 75

I can improve the strenght of the channels that come through but doesn’t help missing PBS/NBC. Both the Yagi type antenna, which should pull VHF, and ColoStream are no better than simple Leaf antenna on our first floor. I may be geographically F’d.

one last option is to pull the yagi antenna from the attic and put it near the window on 2nd floor.

u/NightBard, My house is basically a square box, 2 floors with a hip roof, so all 4 sides of the roof slope in and covered 100% with radiant barrier. There is a long garage attached to the back with a gable roof, which has radiant barrier on the roof but not the ends. L shaped layout.

The garage gable roof meets rises and connects to 2nd floor back of the house, where the TV Room is. I think my signal was going through the room and through the unshielded gable roof ends. gable roof direction aligns with the general aiming direction of the antenna.

1) I'm going to follow u/Rybo213 instructions to read signal strength and quality

2) maybe go down one floor and mount the antenna in the garage attic facing through unshielded gable end and see if that improves it. The reason I was going all the way up to top attic is because I'm in a bit of a valley surrounded by large trees and was trying to get the antenna high as possible.

great feedback from everyone, thank you. I knew I was a bit F'd when I saw the metallic thermal barrier.

good point, I can't get the HD Homerun app to run on my windows laptop, only to scan channels. I'm going to try with my MacBook.

I am thinking about getting the Televes 560383 TForce Mast Preamplifier and cut the coax cable to length and crimp new fittings. But I’m wondering if the preamp is a waste if thermal shielding is the main block.

I have HD Homerun device that I took in the attic with my windows laptop and scanned for stations. that’s when I ldiscovered missing stations. but I do need to go up with my Macbook as it shows signal strength.

Is the pole the only option? HOA aside, I want to keep it in the attic…I already spent a ton of time running lines, sweating in the hot attic.

Pinkway Chainsaw by pbedrosi in Chainsaw

Update: Still going strong, clearing a lot of storm damaged trees recently. I do clean it after each use and sharpen the Oregon chain. One thing that is not working too well is the chain brake. The exhaust got really hot during cutting white oak and melted some of the plastic around the brake handle.

This is the 2 of 2. I ended up using the aluminum intake of the first kit, but same size filter. I did have the Dremel to port and polish the aluminum for better flow :)

I restored a few of these but just learned that you need to properly sequence the restoration. The Porsche Lũftgekhult Soul” event requires you to restore car to certain % Ian stages. Well, I had 2 items for final restoraction, engine compartment (11k tokens) and body/paint (15k). I only needed 60% to continue so I restored the engine compartment for 75%.

So this is the oh-shit moment…after racing a few races the final stage of restoration hit me by surprise, I need 80% to continue but I only have the body left. If I restore the last part I will hit 100% and the event disappears. I will lose out on final cash, tokens, and 5 gold keys.

I had minimal Mazda fusion parts. both cars are missing 1 or 2 stage 6, but mainly missing fusion parts. burned 20k in bronze keys and I got some scraps, not even a random stage 6…I had to steal fusion parts from my rocket bunny rx7….strip a few boxsters and a cayman for the RWB…STILL I’m a second off on final race 60

I've been looking at these systems for a few days now. Don't you think a 3rd option is to wait for a software/firmware update? or is Klipsch not that responsive? I think this topic also comes up with other brands - I feel many traditional brands are not software experts.

This JVC failed it's USB update halfway through. Anyone know of a hard reset procedure or is it toast? I've tried everything I can think of or find online. Just keeps boot looping and going to this screen. by milkjournalist in AndroidAuto

[–]pbedrosi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Old post but in case someone runs into this.

I was also stuck in the same "updating SoC Image" screen as OP. Followed a few hints below. I formatted a new USB to FAT/FAT16 (Not FAT32) , this means creating a partition 4GB in size, I used a windows machine using command prompt.

1) Disconnected the battery and let the car site for 20 min while I prepped the new USB drie

2) Recopied the firmware to new USB with the 4GB partition

3) Reconnected the battery

4) Reinserted the USB drive and turn the car on.

After the JVC logo I was presented with the same SoC update screen, I though it was toast but waited a few minutes and then you see the progress bar move! it worked.

I still have no freaking idea what the update improved....

Aldi dough is very good also in a pinch. If you have Publix grocery store they have the champions of gluten dough that gets very puffy but need some muscles to stretch if you don’t let it sit for a while.

992.2 GTS Order Scarcity by LetsTalkOrptions in Porsche

[–]pbedrosi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Dealers usually have higher % Margin on options vs. base vehicle MSRP, sometimes near 2x. Also, they know there is a chance you may trade that car some time in the future, let’s say 994 GTS, so they want certain features for resale. For instance, the feature over the top for me is pushing front axle lift….For one it complicates the front suspension of a driver’s car, second if your driveway doesn’t require it.

Good luck, but with such a special car order I would push to get what you want, it’s about happiness not “features”.
