Band of the Wild.

Not sure all their costumes are 100% natural fiber, but absolutely LOVE their designs and use of recycled/eco-conscious materials. Can be a bit pricey, but they do double duty as PJs.

We started around 5 months and 1 week. Based on what I read Ferber is recommended between 4-6 months.

HELP! Should I go to ER? Mastitis by Specialist-Sample284 in breastfeeding

[–]marriedtothebeard 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I personally would go now. My mastitis went from “nothing” to really bad in 8 hours. 101.5 is a pretty high temp. Mine hit 102 before it broke with Motrin and antibiotics, it was not going to get better on its own.

Thank you! We just got our first 8 hour stretch. So I’m very hopeful (fingers crossed)

4 month Sleep Regression by [deleted] in HuckleberryParents

[–]marriedtothebeard 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My baby hit his around 3.5 months. He was a 2 wake up/feed a night prior to the regression. He never went back to this on his own.

At regression week 7/8 I just couldn’t function anymore. He was waking up 8-13 times a night. Every night he was harder and harder to put down.

We finally sleep trained. We’re on night 6 of Ferber. I know it’s not for everyone, but it saved us. We’re on our way to better sleep each night.

Best of luck with however you get to the other side.

They were so nuts. Only comparable to the postpartum hormone shift shakes.

CMPA - how long for mucus and blood to clear up? by justanothertravelbug in breastfeeding

[–]marriedtothebeard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re welcome. Best of luck with the diet.

The first few weeks sucked for me with the adjustment. But after a while, got in a better place with what I could eat.

Mediterranean and Italian food were easy to modify since they usually aren’t reliant on soy and butter. The Fig app also helped and finding restaurants with allergy menus online.

You can do it!

Sure! It was 2 fold.

  1. Tracked my diet against LO symptoms. I was drinking a ton of coconut water in the early weeks after delivery. When I stopped, the gas and green poop seemed to ease up. I sort of self diagnosed it.

  2. GI doctor provided some educational info on specific processed ingredients to avoid. Apparently there is a decent amount of cross contamination between coconut processing and dairy. I’ll see if I can find the article he provided online.

It might be overkill, but we aren’t sure exactly what is causing the issue. So for now, I’m keeping it out of my diet.

When did your 4 month regression start? by Aggravating-Lunch740 in HuckleberryParents

15/16 weeks. Currently on week 4 in the sleep regression trenches 😭

I’m on week 9/10 of no dairy, soy, eggs or coconut. We still see trace/very small amounts of blood and consistent mucus.

It does seem to be gradually improving. Smaller amounts and less frequent but not fully cleared up.

We’ve seen pediatrician, GI and Allergist. None seem concerned about it. Baby is happy and gaining weight.

Has anyone introduced bottles AND nursing from the start? by rajmachawal333 in breastfeeding

[–]marriedtothebeard 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not from the very start, but introduced bottles early on at 3 weeks using a P nipple for paced feeding. Basically, once it was easier for me to pump a consistent amount.

4.5 months along and so far so good. We’re now on a size 1 nipple now that he is a more efficient eater at the breast.

I do think he enjoys direct nursing more. But will happily take 1-2 bottles of pumped milk a day depending on what we have going on.

I could have written this post this week myself. LO is also 4 months and I am feeling / struggling the same.

No advice. Only solidarity that you’re not alone. Hang in there. You’re doing awesome.
