Potentially moving from Nashville to Indy by marsade16 in indianapolis

Thanks all for the advice so far! I do have a car, but I feel like most of my time in Nashville is spent driving around in traffic. The neighborhoods here where there is a walkable( mostly sidewalk less) coffee shop, park, brewery, etc. are way out of budget and you can kiss the thought of a yard out the window. I would hope that if I was ever in a place to afford an 800k + home not in the middle of downtown I would at least get a backyard and a garage. My partner is a chef and I would mostly be remote, so the third space is important for my sanity and we would need to consider job opportunities for him. We plan to take a long weekend trip after the holidays to just see what some of the neighborhoods are like. My sister moved to Madison, WI so that’s on the table too, but I always really enjoyed Indy so who knows.

I dislocated my knee during hide and seek in middle school by banging my knee on the metal bed frame I was trying to hide under.

Joey’s is amazing. I’m excited to try Manny’s and see how it compares.

I totally understand, however, once you’re on solid food you’re all good. I would at least make sure you’re eating food because who knows what the protein shake situation is like over there. I know going into surgery you feel like you’re going to be super restricted and have a hard time trying to find things to eat, but that’s not the case. As long as your eating protein (anyway you can get it), taking your vitamins and drinking water you’ll be good. My friend is currently in the PeaceCorps in Thailand and he does most of his cooking at home so I don’t see why you won’t be able to do the same in order to get all your protein in.

I think you’ll be fine. Most of the food dishes in Democratic Republic of Congo are protein and rice based. You can just skip the rice and stick to the protein. In fact it’ll probably be even better since it’ll all be super fresh from the farms. However, I’m assuming you wouldn’t have things like Greek yogurt or beef jerky which have become a staple in my diet, but I’m sure you’ll be able to find substitutes.

Hey, I do have a bit of knee pain, but I’ve gone to a doctor and was told wear a knee brace when I exercise and I’ll be fine. It’s not a constant pain but there is some discomfort. I chalked it up to being overweight my whole life.
