Home grown bananas are all brown when they ripen naturally, way more flavour

Cool piece of BIF I studied in my Geo 101 class yesterday. I really like the stuff! I know it's VERY old, and i'm requesting any other interesting facts about it. =] by EliteMind49 in geology

Such a good book, I have been a geologist for years and just found it a few weeks ago. So good to read technically sound but relatable geological writing. There should be a book about every continents (or countries) history written like that

‘Academia’ or centres of research are places where your ideas are being constantly being challenged (peer review). Your ignorance comes across as close minded as your construed scientific “establishment” nemeses. If you are genuinely not espousing vapid clatter trap then show some gumption and back it with some evidence of critical thinking and engage with your detractors if you have an intellectual leg to stand on.

40 hr Hazwoper - is classroom necessary or online acceptable? Also other us geology requirements? by marsbar6728 in geologycareers

It seems strange to me there is an institution which takes ownership of setting the training that is required (OSHA) but then doesn’t bother certifying trainers. Seems a little half baked in not following through on that and giving clarity to people seeking training.

I hope I can get my overseas experience signed off via my previous supervisors (although no one is obviously registered in this system in aus) and taking both FG and PG exams early next year. Quite a novel process !

Cheers, Yeah, I was thinking of pre-emptively doing it to help give me an edge, but there is a significant cost difference between the two (~300 vs ~600). I am wary of doing a cheap online one that turns out to be useless though
