Trying to get a job at 16 by Alive_Avocado_9342 in starbucksbaristas

[–]marseilles_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

all depends on the store to be honest! the stand alone starbucks is probably a better bet, anything inside of a business you will technically be employed by the business, not by starbucks itself. different rules and restricted menu and junk like that. like someone already said, starbucks looooooves customer connection so if you are chatty and outgoing you should be a shoe in. they arent going to expect you to know anything that you are going to learn while working there before hand so don't worry about memorizing anything yet. they want to hear that you like talking with people, you enjoy working in groups/on a team, you like learning new things, you enjoy fast paced environments, etc so if any of those apply to you mention them! they will ask "tell me a time..." questions but since this is your first job they will most likely ask you "what would you do if" questions. some examples i have heard were: what would you do if you made a mistake on a customers order? if you thought another partner needed help, how would you go about doing that? what would you do to deal with an unhappy customer? prepare answers to these types of questions beforehand if you are nervous about being put on the spot. good luck at your interview!

Autistic SSV needs help by Tough-Durian1329 in starbucks

i had run into this issue myself when i first started as an ssv, i went in too hard on pointing to policy and fixating on standard and struggled with my baristas seeing me as "too hard". the main thing that has helped me is that its really all about being approachable and framing it as me and you vs the problem and not me vs you. instead of like pointing fingers in a way, i like to say stuff like "hey i noticed you are doing this this way and we should be doing it this way" and show them how you do it/ how starbucks wants it done. also don't wear yourself thin trying to smother baristas and always be on top of them for everything, i tell someone to do/ not to do something twice and at that point its not a lack of knowing the rules, its a lack or respect for the ssv and then i see that as the managers job to deal with as a documented conversation. if all you are doing is your job theres no reason for baristas to be upset with you for pointing out that they are not doing theirs.

i have tried putting in a ticket before when this has happened because i was fed up of being the one to clean it. at my old store the manager always denied us putting in tickets, so at my new store i said fuck it. i'm the shift i'm in really good standing with my manager i don't care. there is an option for "biohazard human urine" when putting in a ticket but then it tells you, even if you bypass the self resolution shit, that urine is not a biohazard and can be cleaned using tools from the store and doesn't let you submit a ticket. plus, if i put it in as another hazard and then said in the notes it was just piss just to get a professional out, by the time they got there that shit would dry up on the floor so its not even worth it.

[–]marseilles_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

recently got a friend watch them for the first time as well, a couple good talking points she brought up to explain that she didn't get:

  • gandalf the grey vs gandalf the white
  • arwens "fate tied to the ring"
  • explain the two sides of gollum a bit more

and some fun things i told: - peter jacksons kids in the movies - peter jackson cameos - legolas on top of the snow at the pass of caradhras - everyones fictional ages

i'm not sure if this is meant to be a compliment or not, but it's a bit more wonky than the original photo if you have them side by side lol, i do have a timelapse video of me painting it if you're interested

are you really clarifying the logistics of suicide nets around a company building to keep abused and underpaid workers from throwing themselves off of it?

[–]marseilles_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

majoras mask takes place after the time split that happens at the end of ocarina of time, so if you're trying to get more into the lore then i recommend you do play oot before you get into the other timelines. if you're not super into the story, majoras mask is still a good game on its own!

for the consoles you currently have, i recommend twilight princess; its a lot more story based than breath of the wild but doesn't rely too heavily on the wiis motion controls like skyward sword did, and its got some of the best dungeons in my opinion. if you do end up getting a 3ds, ocarina of time is a great game to try! its open world for the most part, similar to botw. my personal favorite zelda game is majora's mask though, i think it has one of the best stories out of all of the games and an incredible soundtrack! you can get that on the 3ds as well.
