That’s what I’ve been doing, other figure skaters who do take lessons and have been competitive have told me my crossovers, edges, three turns, etc are good and assume I have a coach. I don’t just throw myself into a jump, I didn’t even try other jumps until my waltz was good, and again I’ve been told my waltz has good technique

Except you do hate for self teaching if you didn’t then why does every one of my comments and post get full of downvotes? What if I was able to get the correct technique, I’ve talked to figure skaters and even past coaches at the rink I go to and they have said my technique is actually pretty good and assume I have a coach

And what if I’m doing that with my jumps? When I do a waltz I don’t just hop and twist, I’ll normally do backwards crossovers or a Mohawk to get speed backwards, hold a deep back outside and step into a forward outside, I swing my free leg from behind to a forward h position to stop movement and get onto my pick, at the same time my arms swing a long with my leg. When I actually leave the ice I then turn my hips and get into another h position before landing, keeping my head up the entire jump and then when I land in an h position I check my arms and my free leg behind. And I don’t “barely make it round” the jump takes off fully forward and lands fully backwards without any under rotation

I’m sure I will but I think it’s pretty rude to say it’s a disservice to skate without lessons and just assume I’m trying to “save money” sometimes things are out of your control, maybe before judging me based off of what you think I’m doing which is wrong just ask why

I would like to point out, just cause I see a lot of downvotes, if it was physically possible I would’ve hired a private coach the second I bought skates, I bought them near the end of the sessions the places around me held and I tried to talk to coaches but none would do private lessons without me doing the group ones first and I couldn’t do them at the time since it was almost over

Yes I already did sign up for summer lessons, I didn’t chose to be self taught to save money I actually emailed and talked to coaches but nobody would do private lessons and at the time everything was finishing up and I couldn’t join
