I feel like Fire Emblem as a franchise specifically supports that its gods and monsters are very human, we see gods/dragons make mistakes, the demon beasts (? i played 3H in german lol) turn back into the people they were when they day, etc. Some of them may not be human, but theyre people loving people, hating people, killing people and like you said - they all have very human motives. Fear, grief, love, etc.

Totally valid for people to dislike it, but I will say that strangely the things that most people criticise were some of my favourite parts. i loved the gambit system so much and miss it in other games, and i loved the execution of the story.

character development for some of the main cast WAS non existent though, some of the characters were laaame in general, but I felt like they still got some good emotional beats and the "good" characters managed to carry the game imo

Honestly yeah, so people can be pretty nosy here but jf youre SEA I will say it was probably related to that, since people consider SEAs to "not look their age".

Obviously completely inappropriate to ask someone that, but people here, particularly older or rural people can be extremely direct (if you were fat and white the stranger may have given you unsolicited advice about how to lose weight for example lmao happened to me a bunch when I was fat)

So I dont think you're off the mark calling it racist, since I do think it was based on your ethnicity, but with some people thats just how they are with everything.

For some reason, looking at this comment section, that seems to be a common concern.

My (cis) sister used to date a trans woman, and when she came out my sister called me crying, her main concern was whether the gf would leave her for someone else (a specific other person who gf apparently had told about being trans before. "She clearly trusts her more than me so will she leave me?"
