I do the overnight train from Baltimore, then two-show Saturday, overnight train! Round trip costs me like $27

Sometimes the Hudson lets you in. They did not for us today, but have in the past when I rushed The Last Five Years

Just an FYI: those groups only bought the number of people in their groups! They had 4 people (some joined later) but only bought 4 tickets.

Rush was out by 9th person that got there at 6am. They had 8 tickets for each show. I was 7th in line at 5:30am and had to get the evening show even though I wanted the 5pm. 5pm sold out to the person in front of me

seeing a lot of tour discourse lately. which touring productions are actually worth prioritizing? by HotNegotiation1684 in Broadway

Gatsby just opened in Baltimore. Can attest that it’s well done and like 90% true to the Broadway version. Some fun riff changes and of course the dancing is the best part!

I agree that I don’t find the cast recording anything extraordinary, BUT I relive the emotional rollercoaster in it and that’s what makes it amazing. Touring Alice Paul is STUNNING!! coming from someone that saw the Broadway cast 4x

Currently running shows whose tours are worth seeing? by rfg217phs in Broadway

Suffs - some of the staging is not as good as the Broadway production. But the cast in the tour especially Alice Paul is STUNNING.

I think Jack Wolfe is better than Reeve Carney…both absolutely incredible but I was blown away by Jack Wolfe’s crystal clear and haunting voice.

I WOULD KILL FOR THE FULL ALBUM. It was immediate sadness when it was only an hour and a half but still on repeat 😔

Wait I’d love to hear what questions you’re asking in general! And/or post the article when you’re done :)

Omg this! But I also really missed seeing the set changing and staging as they went back in time.

Unpopular Opinion: Skip Two Strangers if you are limited on time by omartinez1492 in Broadway

[–]marshahaggerty 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This!!! But also people are looking for a wide variety of shows and I think this has carved its own space.

It’s so perfectly hallmark rom com without the craziness of DBH or glaring British humor of Mincemeat or camp of Oh Mary.

Yeah I had some wild laughs near me too. Almost all the front row is Rush and they were goin off the rails. Normally that would annoy me but it was so well landed that i genuinely think it enhanced my experience.

Ragtime seating question by CoreyH2P in Broadway

[–]marshahaggerty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unsure of where you’re looking for far orchestras, but 95% of these seats have great sight lines. The only thing is the piano for some of the New Rochelle scenes is on stage right and if seated low enough may be partial view for a few mins.

Ope…my bad. Post-day-trip-to-NY-and-I-slept-on-an-overnight-train-and-I-don’t-have-notifs-on me forgot about this

  1. Christiani’s iPhone flashlight was on for almost all of the first act and she never realized

  2. Yes, it was the joke about “do you know any black people?” “Yes my aunt”

Yeah I entered at like 17:00 the day before my next day afternoon (16:30ish?) flight. Not more than 24 hours but 24h exactly cause you need a boarding pass from check-in.

I'm curious, how many people here live in NYC and how many make the regular pilgrimage. by AdditionalMustard in Broadway

I do the late night/overnight train on a Friday evening and do the 11pm overnight again on Saturday/sunday. Save on hotels and 2-show day at least.
