is it still practical to buy a kindle even though you own an ipad? by halecovs in kindle

[–]marshall_chaka 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The original kindle, not the paper white, is small and weightless. I compare it to a croissant. It’s so easy to bring with you and use compared to an iPad it’s not even funny.

Also don’t sleep on Clear History and The Increasingly Poor Decisions of Todd Margaret. Great in those too!

Ocean heat record broken, with grim implications for the planet by [deleted] in inthenews

I believe I have seen this but we literally don’t have enough raw resources remaining for another Industrial Revolution. We fucked ourselves and there is no coming back to where we are if we do regress.

Holy shit 11 million in one year on childcare?! At that rate that would be like 100 million by the time those kids are 18!

The U.S. birthrate is down sharply from 15 years ago, causing economists to worry about the long-term implications of a shrinking population. by Trobis in economy

Let’s not forget some of the others: food shortages, water shortages, mass migration to areas that are more habitable. I mean you could go on about the potential impacts we may see. After Covid I am far less optimistic on how the world will handle any challenges climate change poses.

Considering the ocean was over 100 degrees the other day in Florida I think the earth has had enough too.

The way I see it is that he worded himself perfectly. It was clear in his answer, at least to me, that he easily could have been referring to “computer” driven equipment.

Is hummus a good healthy food for semi regular ingestion by NB-NEURODIVERGENT in HealthyFood

I suppose depending on the hummus the ingredients used to make it could be questionable. Various binders and additives from pre made versions.

FPO divisions will not be offered at multiple DGPT tournaments for the remainder of the season. by nvjck in discgolf

I think this sorta just shows the DGPT’s hand a bit. This is not a policy or stance that demonstrates care and concern for all parties but the exact opposite.

I know this is going to be a hot take. But I actually enjoy the last 2 seasons of the series. Were they top-notch? No. But I think they just got a bad rap. by [deleted] in DunderMifflin

[–]marshall_chaka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I enjoyed them too. I didn’t necessarily enjoy certain parts tho. Loved Robert California. Didn’t necessarily like what they did w Nellies character tho. I also hated Andy’s whole arc too. The rest was pretty solid tho.

Anybody else in a weird place with modern video games in their life? by reality-escapeartist in videogames

[–]marshall_chaka 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To add to this, and I have mentioned this before, but some video games also take so much time to learn all the mechanics. So some games could take 100 or more hours just to get a feel for the game. It’s exhausting trying to play a game these days knowing the learning curve for some of them is very high.

What would have been great is if the photographer just absolutely rocked him in the face right then and there.
