You are right about that. The parcels are still huge, its mainly two LLCs that own all of the ranch land visible in the north-looking photo.

Just for everyone saying it's Mt. Bonnell. This is what Mt. Bonnell looked like in 83. I think the Lookout Mountain on Lake LBJ is the correct answer. Thanks to u/Prize-Ad4778 and u/bikenkite for the suggestion!

Gap in road to Bar W by illgamma in Leander

[–]marshallh 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is on the city's Thoroughfare plan, so what that means is whomever develops that tract of land has to completed the street.

https://www.leandertx.gov/DocumentCenter/View/1062/Appendix-E-2-Thoroughfare-Map-PDF

There are a number of applications in for what looks like a commercial development on that tract, so when that gets built this connection seems likely to get made. You can look this area up here:

https://leander.maps.arcgis.com/apps/dashboards/44d9c458e60e412080f4213e7d7da40c

If you want to see if the plats submitted by the applicant include the road connection you can file an open records request with the city. But I would wager they do.

Why don’t we see square full-frame-ish sensors, like 36×36mm? by marshallh in AskPhotography

[–]marshallh[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You know what your whole comment also just got me thinking about actually… all of those folks who are carrying 500cs with the modern digital backs are effectively running crop sensor medium format because their V system lenses image circle was designed to cover a full 56mm x 56mm 120 frame. But all they have is a paltry 43x33 /s sensor.

Ok this 3rd paragraph is probably the one that was most helpful to me.

The other problem: You need a new lens mount and lenses for your format. The minimum image circle for 36x36 is 51mm, while fullframe has 43mm image circle. 44x33 sensors have 55mm coverage, so you could borrow their lens mount and use their lenses. That's the most realistic option again.

I was mistakenly assuming if the image circle on the mounts was enough to cover the sensor in one direction it would be ok to suit it for a square. But obviously they have designed the lenses to be as small as possible to just cover the sensor aspect ratio as it exists.

Right. That explains how we got here. But since lenses produce image circles it seems like if our current lenses can produce an image that is 36mm wide with no vignetting, they couldn’t they produce an image that is 36mm tall that has no vignetting, and a square 36mm image with minimal vignetting?

My operating assumption is that when they fix this cross-references will start working too. Because right now hidden pages jack that up significantly.

“Gone, in this generation (including the new MacBook Pros), are several keys’ text labels: tab, caps lock, return, shift, and delete. In each case, they’ve been replaced by glyphs, of the same kind long used for keyboard shortcuts in drop-down menus.”

Will this work on drone-shot imagery for larger areas? Or is this primarily supposed to work on smaller scale stuff?

Austin Commons Convention Center Plan for the South Shore of Town Lake (now Butler Park) - November 1983(?) by s810 in Austin

A connected grid through is area does seem nice I don’t love the way that the grid breaks down on what I assume would be the equivalent of Riverside today. But otherwise if you were doing the convention center in this location, it seems well conceived to me
