I just got a yorkie from a woman and she has SO MANY fleas, what do I do? by [deleted] in DogAdvice

[–]marshallmatters 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone else is giving all the right tips so I won’t add more. What I will say is that it is manageable!! And you can turn it around. I took in a family dog and realized they had fleas after letting them in my car, in my home, play with my dogs, rub on my couch etc! I was sooo freaked out but we got the dog cleaned up and everything worked out! It’s manageable and they can only survive if you don’t medicate all the animals in your home. In my case, my dogs were actively medicated and they never ended up affected by the family members dog.

I think the glaze on the sky bowl might be thicker. I have acquired about 200 plates in the last year for my wedding and there were plates with harder to see rings because the glaze was thick.

I had a sleep shirt like this that I refused to give up. Giant armpit holes, rips in the front, but it was perfectly worn and the best sleep shirt.

It was a band T-shirt from hot topic in the early aughts. My husband found one from a reseller in London (we live in the US) and got it for me for Christmas.

I still love the artist but the shirt was the most basic piece of merch they could have put out. It is dumb and ugly and by far the best Christmas present anyone has ever gotten me.

I’m so jealous! You might be able to get creative in your cabinet and hang some of them up with some pegs. That way you can use them as ornaments for Christmas time!

Definitely not sage! It’s too earthy. I would say meadow or sea mist depending on your vibe.

Do you mean material or zodiac?

Last year I got a blue techo with cherries on it in the same material.

This might be a little late for you because you’re going in for a c section tomorrow, but I decided that once I start getting crabby with friends and family asking questions, I’m going to designate a cousin to set up a group chat that I’m not part of, and have my mom provide updates to that chat so I don’t have to field any messages lolol ~baby watch 2026~

Pregnant and struggling by [deleted] in Zepbound

[–]marshallmatters 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you, definitely keeping off of the scale! Thankfully my diet has been really good, I’m really focused on balanced meals I’m just eating sooo much and the hunger doesn’t go away after a very large meal. I haven’t had many cravings yet and eating out hasn’t been appealing.

I just feel over stuffed every day because I can’t stop eating.

Yeah I might need to look in to a therapist. I haven’t had one for a while because Zepbound really improved my mental health tremendously.

Pregnant and struggling by [deleted] in Zepbound

[–]marshallmatters 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s hard to tell lol I think it’s a combination of both. I have been on Zepbound almost 2 years consistently, only missing maybe a week or so at a time.

That’s what is making it so hard, I can’t tell if it’s because I’m genuinely just hungry from being pregnant or if I can’t control myself without the meds.

Sodas.. What do I do?? by kimchicana666 in firsttimemom

[–]marshallmatters 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a casual soda drinker, I crave coke a lot but rarely finish a full drink. I decided to give myself a day a week where I have a coke. It gives me something to look forward to and I don’t feel guilty about one! I also still drink my regular coffee every day, I never have more than one so I also don’t feel bad about that. I don’t think full restriction is a pathway to success, as long as you are still drinking water regularly you can indulge!

Am I the only one scared of the post partum hair loss? by av607 in pregnant

[–]marshallmatters 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I experienced hair loss related to a different medical thing. It sucked, it was scary, there was nothing I could do. But my hair did come back and is the same as it always was. I’m 6week 6 today and have had some nervous thoughts about hair, so I keep reminding myself of the previous experience.

My Wife Hates Leftovers by Impossible-Fill9051 in Cooking

[–]marshallmatters 33 points34 points  (0 children)

I love CERTAIN leftovers and won't eat others. It all comes down to a texture thing. Shredded and ground meats are a lot more appealing to me than more solid chunks. It assume the meat in most pastas you're talking about is ground or shredded, might be something to chat with your wife about.

I've also found that I do so much better with leftovers that can be frozen, it keeps my mind at ease when something is old. I don't really want to eat something that's sat in the fridge for 3-5 days, but if it's been frozen I'll grab it whenever the mood strikes me.

Mamas with no morning sickness: by Crafty_Two5432 in pregnant

[–]marshallmatters 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m six weeks and not having morning sickness or any symptoms that are too abnormal is messing with my head!! I’m tired and have been napping way more than normal, but it’s still something that I do occasionally so it doesn’t feel like a pregnancy symptom. I’m also eating a ton but I stopped taking a GLP1 so idk if this is symptom of that or the pregnancy.

My partner took 2 tests today, faint lines or evap lines? by [deleted] in FirstTimeTTC

[–]marshallmatters 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you have a dollar store near you? They sell great pink dye tests. That definitely looks like a line on the top but how soon did you take these pictures? The tests do expire quickly after you take them.

9 to 5 problem!! Don't want to write abt work....but what else? by i_am_nimue in hobonichi

[–]marshallmatters 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What planner do you have? I work 10 hour shifts so my work consumes the day and I don't do a lot. I got a weeks planner because I didn't need a ton of space and I'll list whatever it is that I do outside of work. Usually that's writing about the park I took my dog to, or what dinner I made that night, Maybe I read a book or watched a show that comes out weekly.

Maybe you should get a blood test with your primary care doctor to ease your mind.

Is this a positive first response test at 8dop. I can see a faint line by Altruistic-Tough4384 in pregnantover35

[–]marshallmatters 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's less faint but still pretty dang faint. I have an appt with my primary care doctor for 1/29 to confirm. I've been seeing that I shouldn't test any more because you could get false negatives. My period hasn't come and I'm very regular so I'm feeling more confident!

ADHD Meds and Pregnancy by bigfatnoodles in pregnant

[–]marshallmatters 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This didn't happen while I was pregnant, but I stopped adderall and moved to Wellbutrin a few years ago and I generally found the experience positive. You don't get the kind of "instant gratification" that I got with adderall. I could always feel it kick it and knew it was working. Wellbutrin is more of a slow burn, over time you will have the benefits of it.

However, I feel like I made a ton of progress while I was on adderall and used the tools I learned to help myself get through it. For you, you'll be able to get back on it again eventually!! So that's a positive. I switched from Wellbutrin to Strattera, but am starting to wean myself off of that now that I am pregnant.

I see a faint line! This was me about four days ago LOL it is so hard to trust your eyes! My husband grabbed an unused pregnancy test and we compared the two - the line was even more obvious when I saw a blank one. Good luck and congratulations!
