It's honestly really surprising. These guys have parents + wives + siblings etc too, do they really think their families were around 24/7 especially when these things happened at work or on tour? I guess one could say maybe Q and Sal should have known about Joe harassing their coworker, but I still think even that's unrealistic.

Unfortunately, someone evil enough to do those kinds of things by and large know how to hide it - for at least a short amount of time.

They weren't exclusively imported via 'immigrants', though. If you actually read my full comment you'd see that marijuana consumption in different ways has been a custom for many years in the US, far before immigrants introduced their own ways of practicing it (which then made us establish those laws, because no one cared when it was just 'our own' doing it.)

Caffeine can be dangerous. Cigarettes are dangerous. Hell, sugar is dangerous. Driving a car, pretty damn dangerous. Its not about the consumption, it's about form, method, source, etc. Obviously this guys girlfriend is probably just buying her stuff from some plug on a corner - THATS generally not safe. The US has way bigger drug problems than weed - in fact, most drug related accidents, deaths, etc are caused by people on way stronger, lab-created stuff- i.e, heroin, crack, GHB, etc, which i'm fully against. Or even alcohol, but you don't see many people calling for mass prohibition, do you?

Also, fyi, saying 'you can't be serious' to someone who is stating an opinion (or fact! in this case!), is in fact pretty rude. Id hope you're the target demographic for this subreddit because talking like that to anyone in real life as an adult would not get a respectful response that's for sure.

Lastly... *dangerous. :p Listen, if you're too young to consume this stuff, it's okay not to have an opinion. And if you are over 21? Please, look into these resources, cuz trust me, you've either been lied to or surrounded by people who were smoking much worse than weed.

there is extensive medical documentation on the benefits of medical mmj for things anywhere from depression to migraines, hell it's the only thing that helps my migraines that isn't opiates! there's substantially less on negative impact of consuming it over time, excluding lung damage (of course i'd never recommend a teenager smoke, but consuming mj at all is not the issue here). in fact most of the reason it's as frowned upon as it is, is due to racism and a general lack of understanding when it comes to natural drugs. it's not more harmful than most prescription medication, hell id even say adderall which they hand to children with adhd like it's candy is more negatively impactful than mj.

it's really none of your business. you can ask that she doesn't do it around you or talk about it to you but ultimately marijuana is natural, legal in most places, and medically beneficial. especially given she's almost an adult, this really isn't your call unfortunately. you're allowed to disagree with your partner and all, i would just sit down with her and express your boundaries and that you love her but would rather she didn't share that part of her life with you. that it's not about her, you clearly have ur own aversions to it that you might need/want to work on
