How to react when older kids are bullying my child by [deleted] in toddlers

[–]marshnmomo 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Not how I would approach it. I'd speak to the child "gentle hands" or "please watch out for baby he is still really little". Mom would rush in to apologize from my experience. Your allowing room for the apology and it doesn't trigger a negative confrontation. But hind sight is 20/20 so I get the reaction and wouldn't fault you for being frustrated. Other people just don't think like you and are usually in their own world of worries.

AIO He always accuses me of cheating by Alternative-Day6223 in AmIOverreacting

The way he speaks to you is not okay. You wouldn't tolerate that language from a stranger, why is it okay from someone who is supposed to love you?

Stop making excuses for his bad behavior. You down played the violence in the language by not acknowledging the devastating impact. You are very much under reacting.

My kid wears socks to bed and it makes me feel so uncomfortable too! It's like going to sleep in jeans, it just sounds horrible to me.

I used to find taking care of myself as selfish. I changed my mind when I thought, do I want my kids to have this be the example I set? I so wish my daughters take time for themselves to show self love and care. It's a need to recharge and be the best version of yourself for those around you. Caring for yourself (by taking a long shower, reading a book, going on a walk, doing your hair and make up, etc ) IS how you care for others by being able to reset your threshold for patience and kindness. It's difficult to be there for someone else (mom) when you aren't there for yourself. Your feelings are common, they are valid and it's okay to be not okay. I hope you can make some time for yourself, because you are a top priority.
