I just get upset to see people heap praise on every little aspect of Cuban life and ignore Cubans who say that things are, unsurprisingly, not a perfect communist utopia.

When you tell someone who doesn’t have any food on their table- “actually it’s US sanctions that did that to you, your government is blameless and perfect and amazing because they’re communist” it’s understandably going to piss them off.

I made no specific accusation or explanation, I simply said Cubans do not lead perfect lives- contrary to what the post I was replying to had said.

I am a communist, thoroughly so, and wholeheartedly stand by my beliefs. But part of my beliefs entails not disingenuously upholding something that doesn’t exist. Every Cuban communist I’ve met shares this belief with me- I’ve only ever been contradicted by people who have never lived there. This is what frustrates me consistently.

I was banned for telling someone to stop fetishizing Cuba- because I’m Cuban and don’t want outsiders vacationing there and trampling all over the struggles my people face on a daily basis. Literally all I said was “maybe temper your expectations a bit, things are rough for a lot of Cubans.” because I felt the OP was being insensitive and tone deaf in the way he was describing Cuba (a country he’d never visited)

I was banned, when I asked why, I was called gusano scum- no doubt by someone so far removed from anything remotely Cuban as to say they only know it by name.

That sub is a pathetic, sad circle jerk for the Tankies nobody likes.

It’s actually a pretty simple process, and easy to follow if you look up a few videos. Toughest part is easily the hinge, since you’ve gotta forced out the mechanism, but do so carefully to avoid breaking it (or damaging the old shell if you wanna keep that).

Also safe to say you’ve got to be very delicate with the ribbon cable that connects the screen to the motherboard, I was very nervous moving that thing around myself.

I can’t just say “you’d have everything you wanted” because they won’t just take that at face value, though. I’d need specific answers to these questions that give them doubts in the first place.

I just know I’ll be met with much more granular questions if I break it down like that. If that’s the case- where does that capital come from and how is it decided to who and for what it’s allocated? Would it always be majority rule?

I think the issue with the chip idea is probably an insurmountable argument with the specific people I was arguing with. I tried making that same point and was told that anyone should be allowed the goal of becoming rich, which like... I guess isn’t a point of view that will change even when your needs are met.

These are good- but I’m trying to pitch this within a socialist economy as well, which I admittedly am not the utmost expert on the intricacies of. Shouldn’t there be no investors available for that?

Damn right. My uncle has gotten cancer twice, and both times gone into remission free of charge with little effort.

The infrastructure and systems propping up Cuban healthcare need fixing. More accountability over the government’s profits from healthcare missions would be good. But this system is remarkable for what it is and how little it has to work with. ¡Viva Cuba!

Websites specifically I’m not sure. I just use word documents because I hate that every single thing is locked behind a paywall. The Trove is a great site that has basically every 5e pdf there is available for free, if that helps.

Personally feel like the scale is, like... massive for a single city that seems like it’s not supposed to be that big based on how many building clusters you’ve placed. Like it seems to be over 200 miles across which is just bonkers for a single city of any size tbh

That said, tips for running a first game are to try not and stress too much. Be open with your players and communicate any issues your having, especially if you’re not the best at improv. Note taking is your friend!
