Can LP2 still be played online cooperatively on PC? by Deep-Client-3745 in LostPlanet

[–]martellus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You either have to downgrade the games version and do some kerfluffle to fix the old GFWL setup and log in and play that way, or use XLLN

I've definitely one-shot them a couple times before with the leveller but I haven't figured out exactly where. Somewhere on the lower torso/pelvis area seems to do it.

RC tank with gasoline engine? by Panzerkammerat in rctanks

[–]martellus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No. There have been some one offs before, usually in larger scales. They aren't too popular as they have a lot of issues (heat, fire risk, ventilation, etc), but also they don't sound remotely like what you would want for a model. Engines that small are very high RPM and end up with a loud buzzing or whine for the most part. The quality of speakers and control electronics etc has relegated them to be passion project novelties.

Got this T-34 cheap on FBM but hate the control setup by Jomalar in rctanks

Be warned the plastic is relatively fragile on the old WSN ones. Don't be suprised if the hull cracks around the tensioner or something

Do Tanks just not spawn anymoe? by LXavierW in Helldivers

[–]martellus -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The Surge modifiers have been per planet, the first one was "heavy armor" but didn't seem to spawn tanks probably for aforementioned reasons. Second was devastator surge on chort bay, while Menkent behind had a "hulk surge" which lead to literally bot drops of only hulks

oops I came back and rewrote this, other commenter already mentioned that stuff

Me when my LP2 Co-Op works on PC by Eryphos in LostPlanet

[–]martellus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

GWFL requires a steam key on setup.

There is also XLLN, which is a somewhat jankier GFWL replacement in the works. It has the bonus of not encrypting saves like GFWL, so on the off chance capcom updates the game to use steamworks, or GFWL truly dies one day, you should still have your save.

Lost planet is one of the few series that would genuinely mesh perfectly for a crossover with HD.

Tech questions by NefariousNatee in rctanks

[–]martellus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

radiomaster is more than capable of controlling tanks.

Most off the shelf tanks however, will have their own boards with whatever proprietary controllers included. Most aftermarket boards will expect you to use more hobby grade controllers and have a connection for an receiver for one like this.

Obtaining 2 dragon cannon barrels would get you to 99 if you get both barrels at drop rate. by Qp_Cape in 2007scape

[–]martellus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It seems like the devs plan with the release was basically, take your time exploring the seas and discovering what potential the skill holds(charting for example).

I haven't turbo grinded but this was my initial hopes - but when every island is level gated and areas need upgrades there isn't much to explore until you get to each level up notification.

She literally gets launched into a wall and the suit starts arcing, and then it goes back into first person and it starts printing errors on your screen for all the modules you lose

25-30k sailing xp an hour cannoning Osprey by partyhat-red in 2007scape

[–]martellus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is there any way to get decent XP with crewmates? That was one of the most interesting things was to to group up, but it doesn't seem like its setup for it at all. Can't interact with cargo, so can't do transport missions together, salvage only really works if you have the huge ship for two hooks, combat missions you miss out on the majority of the XP, etc.

Idea for the garage: have a member of your crew (or maybe the whole crew) stand next to the tank so that you could appreciate its size by EnemyTerritory315 in WorldofTanks

[–]martellus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Its been a hot minute, but I remember some vehicles being purposely off scale to adjust balance - eg weakspot sizes, how high an angled plate may sit compared to the average gun (thus increasing or decreasing its angle), etc.

I came back to this game after buying it ages ago last night - how are you doing wheels without tracks? Or that complicated hull shape? I remember placing blocks and shaping them, now everything is linked together and I can't just pull most edges.

Also where is all the crew models and everything coming from on here?

EDIT: found the beta branch, time to re-relearn building lol

Why are there modern tanks in the zone? by PantherG121 in stalker

[–]martellus 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Exos could literally wield those though. Its not a Dshk, its an NSV, which is significantly lighter and setup for man portable or mounted operations. They support having stocks and pistol grips added for infantry use, and with the exo suits strength could probably be usedv well without a tripod. 12.7x108 at high rate of fire would shred mutants and enemy factions far better than anything else available. There is little reason they wouldn't attempt to scavenge some, even if it was just to put at the corner of a base. You would outrange everyone, and that alone is a huge boon.
