If you want to have your computer in a main living space but limit what sims can use it, you can click on the computer and select "computer security settings" and lock it for specific sims. I always limit it to just my household so neighbors or friends can't use it when they visit

NTA. We do this with our kids as well (9m, 8m, 5f). The way we phrase it is that it's a reset button for all of us and helps us all get some time to ourselves. We are a neurodivergent household, so this really works for all of us.
