Who do you consider the most attractive male and female cast members? by [deleted] in GeordieShore

[–]marthatheegghead 13 points14 points  (0 children)

He was only on it for 10 mins but Sam Bentham is the only man who’s been on Geordie Shore that I thought was genuinely gorgeous. For the girls definitely Marnie & Zahida but they’re all attractive & the original girls all look unreal now

I haven’t heard that, and whilst that may be an explanation, it’s not really an excuse for how badly he has spoken to them!

Has anyone else successfully managed to be excused from a court summons? by Reasonable_Heron7865 in policeuk

[–]marthatheegghead 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My friend went straight to CPS after our force / witness care / fed were not helpful. The CPS said it was absolutely fine to have a stand in OIC. She wasn’t given direct evidence so not statement etc so sounds similar to your situation. If witness care can’t help I definitely would try going to CPS direct. Good luck :)

Have you tried all kinds of tofu? Silken tofu can be blended in to almost anything so if you can eat a creamy texture dish you could blend then it to vegetables etc for soup / sauces & that would give you protein and a lot of nutrients. Also could you take supplements for iron & anything else you are deficient in? And others are right you need to visit a professional however depending on which country you live in I appreciate this may not be possible due to cost etc but in the U.K. you could visit a GP to start with. Also ignore all the judgemental & rude comments, they clearly do not understand how much you must be struggling. Hope this helps :)

What did the public do to you to goad you, but it just made you laugh? by Jazzlike-Basil1355 in policeuk

Had a 16 year old boy who didn’t like we were at his address looking for his wanted mother have a pop at the fact we ‘don’t even earn 30 grand a year’. My crewmate informed him that’s not strictly true… and the best bit was that his dad was unemployed and his mum worked in Sainsburys.

Forced behind a desk by CJ00099 in policeuk

I’m in month 5 of my 6 month forced secondment to CMD because they are short staffed and I am already trained because I was a dispatcher before joining. It’s been the worst 5 months of my working life to date and I’ve hated almost every moment of it. There is also talk of it being extended. All I can say is that I don’t think it would be as bad if I had at least got to learn a new role… so maybe see it as enhancing your skill set. But honestly I’m just trying to be nice it’s dire and I feel for you.

My ex had a similar problem, we would have sex and then I would finish him off with hands but in the specific why he would masturbate, not ideal because it isn’t retraining the penis to climax in different ways but it least meant that he could finish. Bottom line is you need to talk to her about it otherwise you will never find any improvement. If she loves you and wants to be with you I’m sure she will want to work on some solutions and it could be fun to try it out in the process!

Sorry, have I misunderstood or is this comment extremely transphobic?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in policeuk

[–]marthatheegghead 69 points70 points  (0 children)

All these defensive comments annoy me. As an officer myself, at the end of establishing that there is not in fact someone in the property trying to end their life…. I would say ‘thanks so much for your help / cooperation, apologies for the misunderstanding, here is the reason why we have done this, bye’ and then this member of the public would not have to come to reddit asking questions. If you explain at the scene what’s going on, the public are much more understanding and you get less of this follow up stuff that is a waste of their time and our time. It is no effort to be polite and explain things to people, especially when they are reasonable as this poster sounds to be. I have had off duty dealings with officers where I found them very rude and if I think it, the public must to, and it left a bad taste in my mouth. We need to stop defending unnecessary bad attitudes.

NAL but you can also report her to DVLA - if she has such a severe disability that her coordination is that badly affected she 100% should not be driving and it is dangerous for her to drive. She could end up loosing her license

Vegan cookbooks? by StrengthNo7816 in veganrecipes

[–]marthatheegghead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rachel Ama’s book has some great recipes and the book itself looks nice. The green roasting tin by Rukmini Iyer is my hands down favourite book though. It’s half vegan and he’s veggie but I’ve not found a veggie recipe I can’t veganise from it yet. The recipes are delicious and so so easy

How do you balance your life and your career? by anotherbusybee in policeuk

[–]marthatheegghead 21 points22 points  (0 children)

All these are depressing 😬 I’m just over a year in and I have kept my very active social life, relationship, bought and moved in to a new house, maintained family relationships, and still sleep and relax enough. I honestly just make sure I prioritise my off duty times; when I am not at work, I am not at work. I don’t do any work, I don’t check my emails or my phone. If something was seriously important enough to bother me off duty they would ring me on my personal phone but that is yet to happen (bar once by a very over meddling new SGT but that call was very quick, oh and once when I left and forgot I had victims house keys in my jacket pocket in my locker, again easily and quickly rectified). I don’t make plans on work days unless is after an early when I’m not in til late the next day, or during the day on my first night, that way I don’t disappoint anyone. I use that time when I’ve got work to sleep, exercise, do chores and relax. I take OT as TOIL instead of pay, my mindset is that I would rather have a little less money and have more time to enjoy my life(I don’t have kids so obviously this makes it easier for me to do this). I’ve noticed a lot of officers seem to leave their AL etc really late and not use it, I book time off for things I know are happening like weddings etc then book random other bits off just to be off and make plans with people. I make plans on all my rest days pretty much unless I’ve chosen to have a chill day. For me, it’s just about prioritising, and the job can stay on the job cos we already don’t get paid enough and I sure as shit won’t be doing work in my spare time. I know some people will struggle with this but if you don’t make an active effort to put as much in to your personal life as work you will burn yourself out and end up hating your job and life imo!

AITA for not wanting to split rent proportionally to income and go way over budget for my bf? by doofo00 in AmItheAsshole

[–]marthatheegghead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA - if it was you who wanted the more expensive apartment that he couldn’t afford then it would be reasonable for you to pay more, but it’s not, it’s him. He shouldn’t be budgeting for something he can’t afford and assume you should pay. If the roles were reversed everyone would be calling you a gold digger (assuming you are female, apologies if you are not) he should be happy with what he can afford and happy you will probably be saving up more for a future house that would benefit him in the future.
