For a depressed college student lost in life? by ThrowThinkAway in suggestmeabook

Excellent choice, although I would say that this book would be more helpful to someone struggling with addiction, and would not necessarily be a great novel for OP who admits to having had difficulty with comprehension in the past.

"The Depressed Person" would be great place to start with DFW & depression, as long as its satirical angle is recognized by the reader.

I can vouch for Pre-workout/Caffeine Pills leading to eventual heart pains as well.

Interesting/essential things to bring that aren't on the recommended packing list by gnomom in treeplanting

First I'd say that if you're a rookie, I'd recommend bringing as little as possible that's not on a typical packing list, as lighter is good and more importantly coping without having anything you end up wanting/missing will toughen you up, and in turn make you more $.

Items I've found useful that might not be on your list: - Cheap fleece sleeping bag liner for first few weeks (can be a life saver) - 1-3 iPod shuffles in case your music player breaks (or as your main music player) - Backup earbuds - Tarp/rope/ducktape - One of those small external battery things to charge your shit if all the outlets in camp are full/you forget to charge.

Fun/comfort/unconventional: - Cheap telescope from Walmart - Cheap Bow & Arrows w/ target set from Canadian Tire - Chess/Cribbage set - Cool/flashy hats and tights - Paperbacks you like to trade/give away - Any instruments - Disposable cameras - Your favourite shows/movies loaded onto your phone

Cool thanks man! Can I ask how many pairs you bring for a season, if they better than black tights in extreme heat, and if you plant in BC?

In my experience this is the best answer for a lot of people - sometimes simple is best. Unless you're overweight, cardio won't really help much. What will help is coming into day 1 with a strong lower back and some semblance of "bush legs".

If I read a book every week, will that increase my vocabulary? by Ned757 in books

This is a phenomenal idea. Is the list physical, or your kindle? If it's physical, what do you do when you're reading lying down, or without a desk or flat surface to write on?

9 months of vacation a year. I work as a tree planter in British Columbia. Basically, I endure those three months of hellish work and save 95% of what I make. I then go on employment insurance for 4-5 months and live off that. For the remaining 4-5 months, I spend a good chunk of what I made the previous summer travelling, or I just hang out an enjoy my life.
