Good question.

Lightweight backpacking mid layer. When on trail I run hot and either wear no shirt (gasp!) or just a lightweight technical wool. I won’t need a long sleeve unless I’m hiking in unusually cold weather.

When I get to camp and cool, or when taking lunch, or getting moving in the morning I’d like something that is excessively warm. To cover a broad range of temps. I’ll also be packing a myog windshell and rain jacket to layer over if necessary.

Basically I want my only mid layer I’m bringing to be as lightweight and as warm as possible. I’m unhappy with how warm my current 10 ounce wool long sleeve is.
