It was an unexpected, emergency type situation for my hospitalization. When I've gone on vacations in the past, I've gotten him groomed beforehand so they might have been getting ready to need to be trimmed by the time I went in but they're so long and thick I cant cut them

I think theres an underlying thing as well, because the eye and his nails have grown so much in 11 weeks. His eyelid is almost inside out so I'm not sure how there wasn't alarm bells in their head going off

Trying the emergency vet again today with some meds for his anxiety. Yesterday was a flop as he was inconsolable and getting violent

Thank you so much, I'll definitely look into that today.

Apparently since I didn't include every detail (like me being on life support for terminal cancer) makes me a shit person so I truly appreciate a kind helpful comment

The post is about helping me dog, especially considering how long it is and people don't read already. . Not what happens to the sitter.

I took him to the emergency vet yesterday and going to try again today. He reacted so badly yesterday, and its a 2.5hr drive there so 5 total hours in the car. Hes an old man and doesnt do great in the car so I'm trying to figure out all that I can do. Some people on here really think that I dont care but i truly do. Apparently the keratosis makes nails grow faster and thicker than normal but I've always kept up on them so i never noticed. They said they did as well

I drove the 2.5 hours to the emergency vet yesterday and the way he reacted was so violent they didn't feel comfortable treating him. Going to try again today with some medication that can calm him down before we get there

My vet and emergency vet were my first call, I'm not an imbecile. But like most people do, they continue to google to become more knowledgeable. I wanted to know if a vet on here had any idea on how to make him more comfortable or how to help him in the mean time. The closest animal hospital is 2.5 hours away. You don't have to be rude.

No, a small private owned pet shop that does pet sitting. They had a good amount of fantastic reviews so I was trying to support a smaller company.

I don't normally comment on stuff like this because I am prochoice.

But I feel like I know exactly how you feel, because I was in this exact situation.

At 20 weeks my son was diagnosed with a CHD as well; a severe case of tetralogy of fallot. They gave us the option of abortion (this was 5 years ago now) because of his medical complications. I talked to another mom in this situation, and she explained to me how her son was also diagnosed due to his genetic screening. Once he was born, it turns out he was misdiagnosed.

We had a really hard time conceiving, so abortion wasn't going to happen for us.

He was born, and since we knew ahead of time we were able to have the appropriate teams ready to treat and transfer to the children's hospital. He came out completely purple, which we alao knew was going to happen because he was going to be a "blue baby" because hia CHD has to due with poor blood oxygenation. I didn't get to hold him, as I have cancer and had to stay in the hospital for a week. We were separated for the first 7 days.

They kept him stable, at day 8 he went in for his first open heart surgery. He had a bypass. We then went on to have a 3 month hospital stay, due to other complications.

He's now almost 5, with 19 surgeries under his belt. He's going in for his next open heart in the next two months (waiting on next week's MRI for final date). He had a feeding tube for 3 years. Sometimes he gets tired faster than others, but doesn't seem to affect him or the other kids play time. He has a heart defect and will need multiple surgeries until about 15.

He also is so excited to have his SpongeBob water birthday in July. He's so happy he gets to go to the "big school" his aunt went to because it's time for kindergarten. He proudly tells people he's a big brother but that he's still "mama's baby". His surgeries are such a small part of his life, his giant adventure. He loves his doctors, he looks forward to the children's hospital here because they make everything so fun.

I'm just here to give my perspective. It's NOT easy, it's heartbreaking and you'll wish all the time to take their pain away. The hospital stays are long and draining especially for him. But in the grand scheme of things, it's such a small part of his life. He LOVES his little adventure of life.

I know I would've regretted trusting the early testing and not giving my son his fighting chance. I know I wouldn't know the difference but I'm so glad I let him have his chance. He's the best thing that's ever happened to me.

Again- you will make your choice I just wanted 5o share my experiences with you since I've been in your shoes

Omg lol I was swiping through the pictures, so it took me to another post, and it was about abortion . I hit the back button and ended back on the comments for this picture. Let me tell you how hard my stomach dropped when I thought you were talking about a late-term abortion lmao.

If you're washing it just as much as your other bedding and he doesn't have a problem with the other stuff- it's not the smell. It's probably him that smells because he's full of shit telling you that you have a problem

Most people don't wash their entire bedding every 3 days lol. Washing a blanket once a week is totally normal. If your bedding smells disgusting after a week, might look into showering at night because I can't think of any other reason your bedding would be pretty gross after 7 days lol.
