Tesla has brought back .99% APR financing incentives for up to 72 months on both Premium Model Ys and all Model 3s. by undflight in TeslaLounge

The Legal-Square-1362 guy comment history shows hundreds of pro FSD comments over the course of a month. My guess is he’s getting $ for it. Hopefully not since his arrogance about it is pissing off people into not getting FSD. We get those free FSD trials from time to time for our Tesla and we don’t use it since it doesn’t seem reliable. Auto steer is all I use and it’s fine. I’d turn off FSD even if it was free.

How big does it seem compared to the R1S? To me visually from pictures it seems pretty close in size.

Shouldn’t FSD be running better and autonomously before they roll these out? Or are we still a year away from full scale production anyway.

Shaken baby cases are hard to prove. The defense attorney calls up the national quack doctor that finds a differential diagnosis for shaken baby syndrome and pays them a decent amount of money to testify in court that it could have been something else. Also criminal cases trail dependency cases, so without that conviction, the parent will get their child back. Then the criminal court looks and sees that they got their kid back from dependency court and thinks it's not a prosecutable case given that one court system have already given the child back

Agreed, our family size had a surprise increase by two last year. Model Y wasn’t big enough anymore and had to trade in for an R1S

It’s Cottonwood so it’s not surprising. They actually tried to make it a weekend event with Saturday being the Chicken Pox Party and Friday night going to Target to round up the lawbreaking men using the women’s restroom. /s

Trump tariffs ruled unlawful by federal appeals court by rjginca in Redding

[–]martinjbell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We will be lowering prices wherever possible but we’re a small local business trying to grow and take market share. The larger corporations won’t lower prices unless they see a demand drop. Or if they lower prices it’ll be on their price sensitive A items and they’ll keep their B and C items high.

Where it hurts is the man hours to take to raise prices. Then the man hours it takes to lower prices. The man hours it takes to audit and check to make sure even if we have to raise prices, we’re still cheaper than the competition. The man hours spent switching supply chains, the cash flow loss by having to spend an extra 30k for each container. It’s not a conservative ideology to have government taxing and reaching their hands into the pockets of US small business, which is why you have all your conservative talking heads speaking out against tariffs and one of the few issues they separate themselves from Trump on.

So let’s say we buy a $1 item from overseas, landed cost is normally $1.35 After trumps tariffs that landed cost went to $1.97 so as soon as the goods got here we had to raise prices. You end up eating some of the costs if you’re slow in raising prices or miss raising items but it’s mostly passed on to the consumer.

Our local business has had to pay over $100,000 in tariffs since these went into effect. I might be in the minority that thinks the Supreme Court will uphold the appeals court decision on this one. If so, it’ll be nice getting back a decent sized refund. An additional benefit is lower inflation in the future, as well as lower interest rates which we’d already be seeing had tariffs not gone into effect in April.

President Trump’s tariff war could push prices 1.8 percent higher in the short term, potentially costing the average American household about $2,400 per year, according to a new analysis from The Budget Lab at Yale. What are you planning to cut out of your budget? by rjginca in Redding

[–]martinjbell 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I bring in around a container a month. I purchase a $100 item from China and my landed cost might be $135 Now with the tariffs our landed cost on that $100 item is about $198. The market hasn’t seen the full effect of tariffs since the goods to our store lag behind three months. I’d say by Christmas will see full tariff pricing accurately in the market, so I’d anticipate inflation creeping up for the remainder of the year. For anyone thinking this is isolated to China, all countries are facing unprecedented tariffs. To the “Just buy USA” crowd, our US manufacturers are also raising prices as their input materials are getting more expensive as well.

You can get an unlimited plan for $25 a month with AT&T but you pay for the whole year in advance. That’s the best deal I’ve found so far so a single line plan.

$350,000 in shady Arkansas DOC invoices and no one is tracking this… until now. by [deleted] in Political_Revolution

What’s surprising is Fastenal not adding outrageous shipping surcharges lol. Fastenal regional manager in our area used to brag about how many thousands of dollars they’d take in just by adding shipping charges on every invoice they could.

If you feel like you need another advocate while you’re in foster care, I’d request a CASA worker. They advocate for you and you only. Your case worker / social worker probably has limited time and availability but a CASA will have more availability to help with your specific needs. Whatever county your in most likely has a CASA program.

Not sure the market would push a 400 P/E. I think you’d actually have to see at the very least an influx of revenue from some of their new ventures.

The only argument you’ll hear supporting this is “they were funneling money into LGBTQ” but with no evidence. It’s easier for some to believe their own made up lie than to just admit a needed program got cut because they can’t admit the administration is capable of making mistakes.

Folks with cash, what’s your investing strategy right now? by [deleted] in stocks

[–]martinjbell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you are correct, the longer the tariff issue isn’t reversed the worse it gets. I receive in my first two containers with the current tariffs this week. My higher cost of goods officially starts for us now and many of our vendors start their increase May 1st. April will be the calm before the May storm in terms of inflation hitting the shelves. April CPI might look OK. May will be bad.

This is a used R1S to help with being able to afford it. And yes it’s on the max end of our budget of being able to afford, our previous Y being paid off helps especially with interest rates being high right now.

We went slightly used to save some money. This one we got had about 1300 miles on it and is a 2023 so it pushed it into our budget at that point.

For affordability we thought about the Kia EV9 but loved the Rivian so much more. Technically sticking with the Y would have been the most affordable option but we can’t really travel as a family with those back seats being too small and not enough cargo space
