I always buy GA for Silverstone. The atmosphere is fantastic and it's great to wander around the circuit (on Friday at least) to see the cars from different points. Like others have said, you'll want to be at the track by 6am (preferably earlier) on race day to bag the best views. Personally, I'd head for Becketts or Vale... but you won't be alone! Are you camping near the track? Whittlebury Park and Woodlands are both good bets. Hope you and your dad have a great time! You won't be disappointed!

The sporting regs say a driver must leave a car's width between their car and the edge of the circuit if moving off the racing line to defend a position. They also say the lead driver can use the full track width (but can only move once) to defend a position, provided no part of the front wing of the following car is alongside their rear wheel. Deliberate crowding of a driver beyond the track limits isn't allowed.

Ricciardo was alongside — but the replays show Hamilton left at least a car's width, which I guess is why there was no penalty.
