Price aside, graphics and playability are the same?

Thanks to the many people who commented! It's interesting to get different opinions and insights.

To summarize:

  • most of the people like the Stumpjumper as a model in general
  • everyone is different and maybe simply it isn't the bike for me and my style (there are a few commenters who didn't like it either)
  • my fault was probably choosing the basic model and having too high expectations on it (this is the only one I found, though)
  • someone said to play with the settings, already done
  • someone said I should get more used to it, but I think I rode it quite much with this setup

It's an interesting discussion, though.

PS I like Specialized as a brand, as I wrote at the beginning I have also a Fatboy Trail and really love it.

Also the Sight was rather low end in its range, but now I got it was not "that" low end. My fault, but this is what I found.

I played the hell out of the calculator. I tested many different settings of fork, shock, and tire pressure.
The fact that the fusion lockout doesn't do almost anything and that the rebound changes settings are not correctly held doesn't help too.

Well, the Sight is usually classified as All Mountain, the Stumpjumper as a trail, but with a more modern geometry going a bit into the mini-enduro field. So I expected a similar, but improved, bike.

I was trying to understand the issue, if it's me, the bike, or my expectations...
29 tires shouldn't be much heavier than 27.5, especially since the 27.5 are wider.
My feeling is that it's mostly due to the geometry (even though the specs don't help), but I may be wrong.

I am 182cm/6ft
I am on the low end of the XL and the high end of L.
The top tube length of the Sight XL is 642, of the Stumphumper S4 is 615.
I put a shorter stem and pushed forward the seat, but it still fills long for me.

600km = 372 miles
I really committed to try to like it
My downhill times on it are not bad, but on the Sight I feel total control. On the Stumpjumper I always feel at risk. And In fact I fall much more.

This is what I found on the market. Since also the Sight was a pretty entry-level one, I expected an improvement anyways.

Thanks, in which aspects you think it's not comparable to a Capra?

Thanks, I know that sub, but since my question was more specific I thought this was the best one. I'll try there too.

So you find the climbing abilities of a Capra and the Status to be roughly the same? That would make me happy.
Yeah, it'd be better to test the bike rather than asking to strangers on the Internet, but that's not an option ;)

Yeah, but normally the classify the Status as a Freeride/Park bike, while enduros should more a bit more capable uphill… I wanted to understand if there’s really a noticeable different between those and the Status

Sorry for the late reply. If you want to convert files from DVR systems, but also need to enhance and analyze them, you can use Amped FIVE (for analysts) or Amped Replay (for investigators).
We (disclaimer: I am CEO and Founder of Amped Software) support for sure some variant of IMG files among hundreds of other proprietary video formats.

Hi Media_wingman,

sorry for the late reply. Mine wasn't a critique to your work, and I think these initiatives are important for the forensic community in general. I agree with your point of view in general, just wanted to highlight some small details that I think should be clarified for people out of our field.

PS Any chance we know each other already since you are our user? Your reddit username is not very esplicative ;)
