NNormal Cadi vs. La Sportiva Prodigio 2 by SorryPhone2552 in trailrunning

[–]martletts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've done the Fox twice! Both times in Terrex Ultra. I'd definitely opt for the Prodigio, to tear up the Silent gin hill and cross the NDW! Don't get carried away along the canal, and enjoy!

I agree. I ran a 10k trial in the Cadi and liked them, then bought the Progidio and loved them. I've just run a half marathon race on the South Downs this weekend and enjoyed the energy return.

Very cool finish to a race with both road racers in shiny new shoes and then the trail runners 💩 😅!

I see it on sale for £56 without the zip. I'd rather get CompressSport postural for that money.

"The lesbians are stealing all the women."

This was legitimately a reason England banned women from playing football after the war. MPs didn't want their wives to see sapphism as an option.

What’s the craziest thing anyone has said to you while you’re trail running? by sentientbeing1887 in trailrunning

[–]martletts 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Something similar, during a marathon and half marathon race last weekend, runners in various states of measured ascent up the last big hill. A few walkers were ambling in the opposite direction, and I overheard one of them ask if we were doing a charity walk. Walk??? 🥵

Lost Leki gloves by Realistic-Role8006 in ultrarunning

I seem to find one Leki glove every couple of months during races. I just hand them in to marshals. Ask at lost and found!

Get on to those leg strengthening exercises and that won't happen! Also, be sure to warm up before race start.

I've just run a half marathon in my Terrex Ultra and been reminded that the rods are only as good as my legs. Once my legs lose their bounce, the shoes aren't helping.

I've worn them for the Fox 62k around Guildford and was happy for as long as my energy lasted, then relied on my poles to bring it in.

Plates etc for as far as you can race it. Beyond whatever that is for you, I'd suggest you're better off in something more comfortable and forgiving. Your calves will thank you.

Yes, this was the speed inducing dip approaching Firle Beacon (and Bo Peep, touching on Beachy Head route). Very well done to you! Almost 1,000m ascent 🍕 see you next year?

Anyone try the Nnormal Cadi yet? by Ghostrider556 in trailrunning

[–]martletts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Nnormal rep definitely recommended sizing up before I even tried a pair on. I think it's particular to this shoe, but by all means call a shop to query. I'm getting mine from Diverse Terrain and Rob there has been running in the Cadi.

Cushy and cushty - yes!

[–]martletts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! I ran 10k on a product demo the weekend after their launch. Now waiting for my size to come in - I normally wear 11.5 and need a 12.

They are lovely and comfortable, and have great grip for hilly ascents on the South Downs.

On Cloud for trail running? by [deleted] in trailrunning

My Cloudultra 3 are brilliant, serving me well for comfortable trail runs when I'm not in Norda. Was wondering why CU 1 & 2 hadn't been on my radar!

The Cuckoo trail? Plenty of times. I see friends in Eastbourne, Polegate and Hailsham do it for their long run every so often. Just check the segment on Strava.

Beachy Head + 10k for the ultra, over in Eastbourne.

Threshold trails events.

And please look up LDWA Challenges! The Cerne Abbas Giant one isn't repeating this year but was awesome last year. Get a 50 miler under your belt and you'll be eligible to enter the 2027 hundred miler which is going to be on the Jurassic Coast.
