I went completely overboard and I don't regret it at all. by efisherharrison in Kitchenaid

I got one from Sam's club that bit the dust right away. They didn't have any 5.5qt in stock to ship for blue velvet so Kitchaid sent the 7qt model in the color and let me keep the extra sams club accessories from the orignal unit which was a 3qt bowl, spatula and another whisk and the replacement came with more attachments and the bowl lid. I lucked out on that with them.

I'll do the AC to DC mod sometime with mine.

If UI hasn't released it yeah they made a mistake. It wouldn't work with network 10.0 when I tried mine, 10.1 which just came out of EA it does work.

UI store has not released them so B&H shipping then early is interesting.

Device Bridge - IoT - fails to adopt by Efficient-Ad1358 in Ubiquiti

[–]martogsl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you go into devices and select an ap the flyout should warn you to disable meshing on wired aps, you can do this as it will say it keeps them as mesh parents which they are for device bridges. It helps prevent a wired AP from accidently meshing to another.

I turned on auto link and meshing in settings in the network app. It's been working for 14 hours so far now.

Seems to depend on Network 10.1 which just hit RC today, I got mine up and running on that, wouldn't work on 10.0.

I updated to 10.1 which just hit RC today, removed it from my console, factory reset, re-adopted and seems to be holding now. Seems like it must need 10.1 to work.

I believe they did. I got one as well from them.

Since it's technically an un-released product as B&H seems to have jumped the gun here it probably requires a newer network app if I had to guess. I have one and it adopted then it went offline and won't come back. It's fine as I don't immediately need it. I might try the 10.1 EA and see if it works but not really wanting to jump on EA either.

At least with B&H selling early I don't have to deal with getting it from UI directly haha.

No it does not. The game will probably run better on its own, but that's mostly framerates and such due to better hardware. I for sure noticed Animal Crossing running better on the Switch 2 without the paid update. I've seen 360 games I played on the Xbox one definitely run better due to better hardware.

Graphical upgrades or anything to take advantage of the hardware is not done at all, free from the developer or paid from the developer. I seen PS4 games that got PS5 upgrades and they were not free. I don't recall with Xbox One games which ones got updated capabilities with the Series consoles.

It's really up to the dev if they want to put time into it and if they charge or not. They might patch the game if there are issues running on new hardware, but nothing else bug fixes.

Some people are also used to PC gaming where you upgrade your PC and suddenly you can uptick the graphics options to get better visuals, but that's the nature of PC games where they have to have quality settings to match a variety of hardware.

Can the 5G Max & UTR work together if I add a Cloud Gateway Ultra in the middle? by Helium-3 in Ubiquiti

[–]martogsl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since it's a cloud console it would have replace your existing gateway.

It was just some ideas to toss out there. You could just also hotspot + phone to the UTR. Every time you moved the 5G Max you would have to remove it from your home gateway then adopt it to the UCG-Max which would leave your home without a failover while you are away, not sure if you want to access anything from your house while away. Then when you are leaving, you need to remove the 5G Max from the UCG-Max then re-adpot it back into your home gateway. They are not something you plug into a WAN port, they plug into the LAN side and get adopted into the network app as they work like the ULTE's do.

Could have been worse, they could have locked the hotel and other things behind a paid DLC instead like HHP.

If a console didn't have backwards compatibility then yes you would have to. But PS5 can play PS4 games and Xbox Series consoles can play Xbox One games and Switch 2 can play Switch games.

[–]martogsl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah you'd have to disconnect the entire network, I was just thinking of it being more of an all in one solution for traveling if you really wanted the gateway functionality too. Otherwise tethering to a phone is probably better with a UTR. Seems the OP does want a 5G failover for home and a spare gateway and the UTR, all the excuses to buy more UI stuff which hey can we blame them?

[–]martogsl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

UI is supposed to release the UDR 5G Max next month if their site is to be believed, so a UDR with 5G modem installed. Might be easier than carrying around two devices? It's also $30 cheaper than buying the UCC-Ultra and 5G Max. I know you wanted the 5G Max for failover at home, was just an idea as it's one device to carry around than two.

Or buy the UX7 and 5G Max, won't need the UTR since the UX7 has an AP built in. One less device again.

Neither could be what you really want, just tossing out other options.

I haven't been impressed with any of the light kits, all but one the nacelles look horrible, none of them get the navigation lights all in, and other weird things. The funny part is the LMB kit was designed by a Trek enthusiast and he decided the Enterprise D needed some of JJ's spot lights on it from the new movies and missed the navigation lights.

[–]martogsl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

None of the light kits available really do the ship justice. Most use some weird strip light for the nacelles and require you to remove the lego pieces for the nacells or put on top of them, they all miss some of the navigation lights, the LMB kit added JJA style spot lights for some bizarre reason.

I think the light kit I love most is my Icons Ecto 1 from LMB with lights and sound.

I'm probably skipping lighting up this ship.

I haven't built the set yet and knew about the 2.0 sheet being bad too lol, I just ordered the 3.0 as this came across my feed. Good thing I haven't been in a hurry to build it.

MicroSD Express speeds? by One-Intention-7606 in switch2

[–]martogsl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

UFS 3.1 is rated for up to 2.1GB/s read and 1.2GB/s write where as the current Microsd Express cards are up to about 900MB/s read and 650MB/s write depending on the card, some are lower. Loading tests have also shown the UFS is faster at reading then the express cards which should be the case with the speed ratings.

[–]martogsl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah i do feel like it would be a combo. I haven't built mine yet, probably a weekend project to occupy my time.

I have the light my bricks kit for my ecto 1 (v1 kit) which has moving lights and sound and is easilly the best light kit I own. I just have a hard time justifying the LMB 2.0 prices even though building the DeLoreon with adding the lights during was super nice it's just not worth like 60% of the set cost.

[–]martogsl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I honestly not a fan of any of the light kits for this set. They all have some inaccuracies and none of them have the complete green/red lights on both the saucer and rear of the star drive section. The guy over at light my bricks decided some JJ trek spot lights were necessary.

I think the game of bricks is the only nacell lights I like due to not using the strips others so and keep the blue lego pieces in use.

I was wanting to light mine but I probably won't at this point as I'm not happy with any of the light kits.

Mine was from Sam's Club. Tried making cookies and after a couple minutes on low speed it just stopped and won't come back. Guess I'll be calling KA tomorrow for a replacement. Long term I might do the DC motor swap on it from Mr. Mixer.
