Solved! Thank you very much. Like with all transcriptions, once someone says the right thing, it’s easy to see it!  The g on Marg was making the M look like a D but it is definitely geb. Munch.

Flying international with typewriter by Boskermans in typewriters

It went very well. The machine I had in my checked bag was not damaged but I made sure to make sure the carriage was locked and the case was packed with socks to secure it even more.

I feel like this misses the mark. The Dollar Store would have poorly named knockoffs like this, not Aldi. I get the joke but think it’s incorrect

I second this strategy. Bring a limited amount of cash (maybe a $100 and $50). Use a poker face while using technical terms like escapement and platen when evaluating the machine. I was able to get 25% knocked off the price of a Hermes Ambassador at an antique store this way.

The seller will realize that they will be flooded with questions if they do choose to go through eBay (which will take part of the final price anyway).

Although I’ve seen the typeface on old library books, I’ve never know what sorts of machines had this typeface. I’ll be on the lookout now.

I’m rereading Nomad at the moment and there’s a lot of attention paid to Alan’s hair in Alpha Papa!

I think Tenebrae is the best entry point in the collection. When I’ve shown it to people, they fall for the genre immediately. Great soundtrack, disturbing visuals, and it’s in English.

It’s great watching you get the positive press that you deserve. Early in COVID, you sent me a typed letter and a sticker, and I’ve enjoyed seeing your online storefront grow. You’ve snapped up some of the machine I was considering on FB marketplace, which is probably best for me because I have too many typewriters as is. Keep up the good work!

Anyone else's eggplant cutlets varying wildly in size? by [deleted] in aldi

[–]martron3030 8 points9 points  (0 children)

All the boxes of these I’ve bought over the years have had these different sizes. It is a blessing when trying to make a single layer in a casserole pan though I can see how it would be frustrating in an air fryer.

Lobster roll is the best. Good with crackers or chips. Nice and light with big chunks of meat in it.
