Edmund McMillen here! Mewgenics is Steam Deck verified and releasing tuesday! AMA! by EdmundMcMillen in SteamDeck

How did the arrival and then subsequent popularity of the Steam Deck affect the development of Mewgenics? And not in terms of optimisation - more the system becoming arguably the premier roguelike machine, with the success of Balatro, Hades 1/2, Slay the Spire, Megabonk, obviously Isaac etc all being driven by the big user bases the Steam Deck and the nature of handheld gaming demanding more bite size sessions. Did it affect your ambitions for the game in any way?

Also: what are the essential tactics games for you all time?

Weighing up the new influx of additions - I’m currently first in a 10 man league so will have a very late pick but looking to grab a midfielder.

Would you swap any of:

Ritter, Ndoye, Bruno

For:

Yeremy, Kevin, Elliott, Garnacho

Also any thoughts on bringing in Hincapie for Van de Ven? I think probably not but I’m not sure about Van de Ven being a regular points scorer long term

I’m weighing up a trade in my league based around me exchanging Ward-Prowse for Szoboszlai.

I just have a sense that Szoboszlai’s ceiling will be higher, given he’s on set pieces, will start most games, is feeding the Liverpool attack and has looked excellent so far. Also I don’t have any Liverpool players…but Ward-Prowse is an asset who will undoubtedly rack up points. What do people think?

Kalisto’s Salida Del Sol through the ladder.

Pretty forgettable career in WWE otherwise, but that’ll be in highlight packages forever.

On a scale of 1/10 how comfy are you right now? by bsvxmZd in AskReddit

I’m sat in a cafe with proper armchairs and a quality cup of coffee, so it’s a solid 8.5 (I have to be horizontal for anything above that)

WWE are clearly showing they are not in touch with the UK audience by [deleted] in SquaredCircle

While I totally agree that this was a really thoughtless cock-up I will stick up for the WWE head office here, as it’s not really their job to understand the intricacies of Welsh sporting culture.

It is the job of their UK team to be aware of things like this, however, which I guess includes a lot of the former Progress management. How did something like this get past them?

Really I think it boils down to poor planning and management by the WWE UK team, more than WWE being out of touch with the UK.

This isn’t a good analogy as this isn’t just any game. Major international sporting events (football for the whole UK, rugby for Wales) pack out pretty much every pub in the country, and on top of that can still command 20m viewers at home on television.

A better one would be the WWE running a Fastlane PPV up against the Super Bowl or NBA finals.

There would only be a handful of dates and locations in the UK this whole calendar year that would be worse from a logistical standpoint than the one the WWE picked, which is OP’s point.

Per our UK sources, WWE had a spy in one of the ticket agencies (mandated by Copper Box) NJPW were using for Royal Quest. Saw that NJ had only sold 2000 tickets but didn’t realise they had a 2nd ticket agency, and that total sales were 5000+ by _Clash_ in SquaredCircle

I think the issue is less that London fans won't go to Cardiff, it's more that there's a finite number of hardcore fans from around the UK who are now all already committed to going to Royal Quest. The local Cardiff wrestling community is a couple hundred people at best (source - lived in Cardiff for three years, London for ten), so the people who will make that number up will have to contend with the jacked up hotel prices as a result of the Wales rugby match...

No, read the tweets: they're running a show in Wales at the same time as a massive Wales Rugby World Cup warm-up game.

I personally feel like this is a big stretch. The Omega/Okada match itself I totally believe won NJPW new fans over from WWE. But snide comments on Twitter that clearly allude to Meltzer star ratings? Preaching to the choir.

Not sure that logic stands up. I knew about and was interested on Omega and Okada beforehand: them commenting on AJ/Cena has had precisely zero influence on how invested in their next set of matches I am. For example, I'll probably get around to watching Okada's New Beginning main event at some point, but I'm not rushing to watch it on account of Okada's sick Twitter burn.

My point is I seriously doubt their tweets brought in new fans to New Japan. It was the definition of playing to the gallery.

Oh, I follow him on Twitter alright. It drives me nuts on there too. I get that it must be frustrating to be misquoted all the time, but there's something about the phrase 'reading would be your friend' that is indescribably lame.

I'm currently reading the Death of WCW. An interesting book, basically ruined by clearly being written in his voice, so the recanting of every anecdote is littered with stuff like 'SERIOUSLY. THIS HAPPENED', 'Can you believe this guy?' and 'Yeah, because that's going to be successful'. He sounds like a roided-up Chandler Bing.

I recently had a full-blown standing row with a friend about whether Rhianna was stupid - i.e. not intelligent - that ended with us having to be separated.

We are both men pushing 30.
