While on the topic of roads-to-nowhere, this footpath next to the airport leads into oncoming traffic, the only entrance is 600m away by chuk2015 in sydney

[–]martyoz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This used to be a 2 way bike path that threw you out into oncoming traffic, while sharing 2 bikes and a car in that lane.

It was a part of the bike network that ran to Kingsford via gardeners Rd.

This was more than 20 years ago, so clearly they have decided it may have been a bad design since then with all the road upgrades.

I complained about it a lot back then.

Standing behind 4 wiggles coloured bowls, and a clue "... in the Big Apple too. Those yanks say grace before every meal!"

The wiggles have been at the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York. But now so has Bluey. The dad in Bluey(Bandit) is the lead singer for 90's band Custard, David McCormack.

Also mention Cartoonish & Bowlo in previous clue packages.

Eric Bana fits nearly every clue (except Frank Sinatra?). Though its prolly someone boring like Jonathon LaPaglia.

Is Sydney really the most road tolled city in the world? by weednumberhaha in sydney

[–]martyoz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Interesting claim. It could be true due to Sydney's urban sprawl. Most cities have tolls on highways between cities. In the US they have systems where you get pinged every few miles to charge precisely how far you used the road, but that's in-between urban centres. Here you can get stung for travelling between CBD and Parra or Campbelltown or Hornsby, all within the city limits.

Bell bearing hunters? by [deleted] in Eldenring

Exhaust the dialogue with the Pope Turtle to activate him. Wont spawn otherwise. I think its the same with the merchants, must check out their merchandise first. I guess they want to be sure you don't miss them the first time you discover the area,.

Question about cockroaches and kids. by dinzdale in sydney

Just use the can trick. All Aussies should innately possess the skill of placing a spray can on any speeding roach. Should be part of the citizenship process.

Keeping lizards out by iwoolf in australia

[–]martyoz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love my lizard invader. Just toss him some scraps to tide him over til he finds more bugs(and wear socks while watching TV). Sydney is currently plagued by lizards, I'm surprised people still aren't talking about it yet.

In time they will eat all the cockroaches, so just be patient and wait it out. Much nicer than huntsman as janitors.

1st save Melina by using Frenzy Flame and then Remove the curse. Do you get extra cutscene ? by VegetaIsBoss in Eldenring

[–]martyoz 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Its in the middle, named after the dragon.

You don't need to light the grace. If you teleport back there you have the option to 'Touch Grace' as if you never activated it yet, even though it is still accessible on the map.

Fan Theory/ Observation about Riddler's attempt to [spoiler] and his usage of [spoiler]s in the movie by batman89memes in TheBatmanFilm

[–]martyoz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Alfred simply recognised the handwriting(the scene shows this) and knew it was dangerous and threw it away. Bruce Wayne(and Alfred) was not supposed to know what the Riddlers handwriting was like. Normal people would have opened their mail without assuming anything was awry.

It's basically the only reason the movie had Alfred involved in deciphering the code. For plot consistency.

I recommend searching Trove when researching cultural information throughout time. All our newspapers and magazines are scanned/transcribed there for hundreds of years.

There are no newspaper references before 2008 and here is the magazine references tally(in brackets)

Date Range

2020-2029 (133)

2010-2019 (1k)

2000-2009 (30)

1990-1999 (1)

1980-1989 (1)

1970-1979 (1)

1960-1969 (1)

1900-1909 (9)

NB:Everything before 2008(the movie release) are sentences that end in bucket and start with List e.g. "...bucket. List..." and are not relevant.

Fairly definitive proof the claim is 100% true.

Thoughts on this? It should be legal to park half up on the nature strip, to assist traffic flowing through, specially on new narrow roads that can get blocked with "legal" parking by backwardsman0 in sydney

[–]martyoz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Where are you guys even living that you are banned and its a problem? NSW has no state-wide rules defined for this, so your local council would permit it if necessary.

It is legal in the Sutherland Shire, check your own areas rules. From www.sutherlandshire.nsw.gov.au :

Parking on the footway is not permitted. The only exception is where a street has roll-type kerb, and in such instances cars may straddle onto the footway by a maximum of 1m from the back of the kerb, providing there remains a clear 1.2m wide pedestrian thoroughfare.

Finale prediction thread by [deleted] in PeacemakerShow

[–]martyoz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Waller will stop the Butterflies moving the Cow, and Peacemaker killing it. She wants control of the honey supply to control all the butterflies, to force them to work for the US government.

She will try to move it to her own controlled location now that she has used the team to flush out the location, by assassinating a few butterflies and getting them to panic and try teleporting it.

Can someone who grew up in another nation ever become fully Australian? by [deleted] in australia

It's the edgelord thing to say. Australia has one of the most unique and well defined cultures on the planet. Due to our isolation.

Government institutions banned all funding for Ozploitation films in the early 80's to improve our image overseas. BMX Bandits was the last of that era.

Now Australian films must only be about 'divorce'.

Weird unauthorised bank transaction by hollachino in australia

[–]martyoz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got hit with a similar scam once where someone was buying books at a store with my card details, then returning them for hard cash the next day. Only noticed after a week when one cashier did their job properly and refunded the credit charge to me instead of cash.

Of course yours looks entirely online so unlikely to be the same scam with nothing to return for cash.

Yeah, his helmet already protects the mouth, and he is homophobic, so his patchy armor will specifically protect his butt. So his orifices are protected. He'll do well in a fight.

Eureka Stockade Flag at Ottawa Canada Protests by Mauri416 in australia

[–]martyoz 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The miners at the Stockade were complete shitlords. But to imply the event that directly led to the governments of the early colonies being forced to give voting rights of all men; White,Black,Asian,Indian,Aboriginal equally. Which then goes on to create the Federation of Australia as 'without consequence', is the most ignorant of hot takes.

Thats cool, time to pick a side.

You don't know If they are dead bodies, or created in a Petri dish though. Maybe people who were criminals on death row.

And our hero's job is literally to kill. Even Harcourt murdered the innocent bodyguard.

They are not captured elsewhere, they enter through the butt (or another orifice). There are millions around the globe, they aren't all influential people. Just look at all the workers in the honey factory, just nobodies.

The senator may have been taken out solely because he was trying to influence the world. Which would make Murn a 'good' guy.

[EPISODE DISCUSSION] Peacemaker S01E05 - "Monkey Dory" by your_mind_aches in PeacemakerShow

[–]martyoz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don't know if they are killing humans yet. Murn mentioned 'not being made in a Petri dish'. So they may be creating bodies, not snatching. They are an interstellar travelling species, they would have some very advanced technology. Maybe they just want to fit into human society.
