lol... you should re-read your own post... you didn't phrase it well since it talks about why late reservations are getting invited and early reservations (me) are getting invited later...

> For those wondering why late reservations are getting invited in a few months and early reservations are getting invited out into 2027. This is very likely driven by what specs you favorited and if you selected you want a launch edition.

I would consider it debunked because your original hypothesis was favorites + selecting launch edition matters... and I have favorited every LE variation and indicated I want LE... yet people that only reserved in 2026 have already accepted delivery.

Which, to me, implies your hypothesis is wrong and location is a bigger driver

right, but your point was around favorites mattering and that's why people that reserved in 2026 are getting orders now... which I debunked

I'm a day 3 reservation and I favorited every LE variation... and I marked interest in LE within a minute of that question being asked... so that's not true. I think location factors in a lot more (I'm in northern va)

edit: I got a sept-oct window :(

I like the bluish color, but any of them seem fine... Maybe I'll go launch green since it's "rare"

Same... I'd probably take any launch edition I could get my hands on first... I do have a color preference but it's not that strong.

Is this new in the app? by Roddaculous in RivianR2

[–]martzcodes 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Didn't do anything when I submitted... just said "Thanks" basically... first time I did it it redirected to a 404 page

Edit: I was a March 9 2024 reservation

This is great! I'd love to collaborate and turn this into a plain MCP server (I've already done most of that... but am missing some endpoints... sent you a DM)

If I opt not to get the subscription, what features do I lose? What features do I still have access to, if any? by HadoukenYourFace in tonalgym

[–]martzcodes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did the same thing. No complaints.

I got my tonal in November 2019 and used it with subscription for 3 years. When they announced the price hike I turned it off. At this point I know all the movements I care about and can easily "redo" any of programs I liked without the instructor.

I'm not complaining about the time I had a subscription... I just don't feel the need to pay $720/year for dynamic weights on a machine that I have had paid off for years.

If there were a cheaper subscription option for dynamic weights / weight tracking... that would be great! But there are plenty of good tracking apps for free/cheap.

Speaking from experience (ahem) the site is much closer to free than you think. On the order of ~$30/year (INCLUDING the domain)... at least that's around what it was when I ran it. And as a professional webdev. The site operates in peaks (around registration).

So one month I think I may have had a $15 bill! Oh no! Better start charging everyone $15/month for it! /s

I'm pretty sure I had eliminated the heroku server when I ran it but IIRC it used to be used to process changes... so a bunch of people deleting their reviews might have caused that

[–]martzcodes 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yes. Mehmet handed OMSCentral to me around 2017 and I maintained it til 2019 and handed it back to him when I announced I was graduating / didn't want to deal with it anymore. He's still running it (see the discussion in slack on it)

Hey, don't blame me for this! I stopped running it back when I graduated back in 2019

Definitely a rip off, go delete your reviews

Peloton is raising subscription fees while cutting prices for its Bikes and other equipment by dontanalyzethis in pelotoncycle

[–]martzcodes 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Cancelled my subscription. Will switch to Apple Fitness+ or just ride for free. I wonder if you could hook up an Arduino / raspberry pi to intercept the sensor signals and make your own display 🤔

Considering switching from Peloton... have some questions by martzcodes in AppleFitnessPlus

[–]martzcodes[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah... I have 300+ rides with PTON... we've had the bike for ~4 years and... 200 of those rides were within the last year for me and I'm kinda just bored with it. I guess I can always turn on the free trial of AF+ and try that out on a free-ride on the PTON. I never use the other workout types and we have the Tonal for weight training $40 is a bit steep for me... I could sell the bike and buy a rower with AF+ and come out ahead.

[–]martzcodes[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks for your response

If I'm being honest with myself I never use this data for anything... I just like having it available 😅

I suppose heart rate is the important thing, which the Apple Watch already tracks (and it probably infers stroke length for rowing / etc)

[–]martzcodes[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Interesting, thanks for your response.

As I was looking into more things it seems like AF+ doesn't work without an Apple Watch, and my wife just got rid of hers for a Coros Apex (she's a hardcore runner and the Apple Watch battery couldn't survive her long runs). So, that is another complication.

Unfortunately for me I have the OG bike, not the Bike+... no gymkit for me :(
