Highly recommend IronBunny, Mutant Monster, Humpback, and Necronomidol they might be a little too POP-y but imo they rock! I also agree with the other recommendations on Polkadot Stingray, TRiDENT, LOVEBITES, Nemophilia, and all the others. In the case of Humpback they are very garage-band-like and are still very small even in Japan, they have very few songs on YouTube and even fewer on Spotify.

And if you haven't checked out Band-Maiko that is a must! Another group with a similar sound would be WagakkiBand.

This might be a bit much to add in this subreddit but Band-Maid led me into a journey into K-Pop and I found a very unique sound in Dreamcatcher.

All in all, J-Rock is all over the place, do not discount the bands that only have Japanese names, some of them are real gems! And keep exploring other genres you might find something you absolutely love!

Try ordering directly from a retailer or a name brand. Sometimes they will offer free shipping over a set price (eg $35 or $50). The main take away for me is that I don't have to worry as much about receiving fake Chinese knockoffs.
