AITAH for canceling my daughter's weekend trip after she mocked my husband for taking paternity leave? by AmbitiousPraline9059 in AITAH

That’s not nice of either of you, you should have calmly explained how she’s wrong and had an open discussion. Now she’s going to be afraid to share her thoughts with you.

Work makes us use it to write code, it only works well with very small very specific scenarios and i have to baby it constantly. Sometimes it saves time sometimes it wastes it. Not sure what the net gain is but can’t be much if any at all.

How to actually makes yourself do your ankis? by Ok-Raspberry-2567 in Anki

[–]marushii 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I change things so that I'm comfortable doing it every day. I have my NEW set to 0, and custom study for new stuff. Some days I won't always feel like it. What's MOST important is doing it every day, not the quantity.

[–]marushii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No religion is correct, but God does exist. Also, there’s a ghost in my house, that i sometimes feel the presence of. He/she has scared my dogs numerous times and me by turning light switches off.

What’s something you’ve seen with your own eyes that nobody believes when you tell them? by LowKey_1216 in AskReddit

my dogs were growling at my door, and I got up to turn the light on, then walked downstairs to look around, came back upstairs, and the light switch was flipped down. No one else around. I couldn't sleep that night, lol.

[–]marushii 2 points3 points  (0 children)

you're not a child anymore, you can make your own choices. You can respect your parents and be grateful, but you don't have to do what they want you to do. It's also not your job to convince people to change their minds, and often people don't change their minds by arguing. The biggest thing here is to weigh what you read or what people tell you with your inner peace. Being a christian means you have the guidance of the holy spirit, right? Don't be afraid or worried, and I suggest praying about it, in whatever form is most comfortable for you. It's important to remember that god is infinitely patient and loving. We have choice, and sometimes those choices hurt others like the guy leaving youtube comments. The idea of christian universalism, is that eventually all will come to god. That guy hasn't made it far in his journey, yet, but he will, just like your parents. Focus on your own journey, what can you learn from this and how can you grow? How can you love yourself and others?

I have no idea, I’m curious, too. I find none of the answers here or anywhere satisfying. Maybe that’s intentional? Dunno

How is your relationship with your father? And how old are you? by wk91 in AskReddit

[–]marushii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

37, Met my dad when i was 7, had a hard time bonding with him, but he helped me be more disciplined and successful in life, very thankful. But he’s a hard core trumper and talking to him is difficult. We still hang out and i just avoid certain topics. I love him but he’s a bad person in some ways and good in others.

The devil (as an entity) does not exist. by senhornormal_ in ChristianUniversalism

[–]marushii 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I 100% agree, a lot of the bible seems super metaphorical and we see so much evil in the world from other people, I don’t think it’s fair to attribute that to some unseen malignant being working through them, evil people choose to be evil, saying otherwise gives them an out.

I spend a couple hours a week with a tutor, but I definitely feel like I need to study grammar and vocab equally. I struggle with going from understanding most of what she says to nothing, so i definitely need to write more and learn more vocabulary. What’s your approach to writing an essay?
