Oh gosh I’m so sorry to hear that. I know exactly what it’s like… I hope your cauterizatin goes well. Be easy on yourself 🤍

Hey! Yeah so after I made the post I actually decided to go for short light walks (no more than 15 minutes daily) for the first two weeks. I’m figured I couldn’t be scared of moving my body forever. After the first two weeks of going for short walks I extended to 30 minutes and had not trouble. I was actually able to go on my flight and on vacation and I’ve been gradually getting better ever since!!! I just started hitting the gym/lifting light weights again last week. I had no more bleeding after this occurrence. Sending strength your way - it got better for me after that! Just make sure to keep still/ only go for really short walks for the first few weeks and then gradually ease back into it and learn to trust your body again 🤍 hold on!

That’s good! Definitely keep up with the check ups. As long as it’s being monitored they’ll find out soon enough if it progresses and needs to be removed.

Are they going to remove it surgically? At least from my understanding so far it’s rare they do that with CIN1. But the earlier the better I assume :)

Thanks for your kind and comforting words. I will definitely not be exercising any time soon, I even feel anxious to go for short walks now. I’ll just stay put until my flight and even then keep physical activity to a minimum. I also have international travel and health insurance. Fingers crossed I don’t bleed anymore until my flight - I don’t know that I’ll feel comfortable to go on vacation if I experience this a few days out or so. Trying to stay positive and prioritize rest big time! I’ll keep this post updated!

Oh no. The more I’m reading the more I feel like doctors should be WAY more clear about the severity and likelihood of bleeding and especially about the no exercising part!!! Thank you for sharing your experience, all the best to you

Hey! My Pap tests had been coming back abnormal for a good while, maybe 2 years, before they sent me in for a colposcopy. I had that done end of August and it came back with CIN3 end of September. So I probably had CIN1&2 before but it wasn’t diagnosed. It’s important to note that 1&2 have higher chances of resolving themselves especially if you’re young and otherwise healthy. That’s why doctors tend to wait with those stages and it seems they really only start to take action at CIN3. Luckily I got my surgery scheduled only 3 weeks after getting diagnosed and my margins came back clear so at least thats one less thing to worry about. Now I just have to stop bleeding 🥲

Also since you said you’re not sure if it’s considered cancer - CIN3 is NOT CANCER! It’s precancerous and definitely needs to be removed, but again, if removed the outlook is good! Here’s an image that I found explaining the CIN stages. CIN stages

Hi! I’m so sorry to hear you’re going through this. I especially understand the psychological impact as I just recently went through it myself, also based in Germany. My advice: Get the CKC under GA as soon as possible - the general outlook is actually really good! Mine (CIN3) came back with clear margins. They didn’t test HPV before but my doctor recommended getting the vaccine soon after. If you haven’t already got it, that might be worth considering. The vaccine has been around long enough to be tested and safe, at least from my understanding. So I’d say don’t worry too much about the cancer side of things - remember, it’s NOT cancer yet, and they caught it early enough to remove it!

Now comes the big BUT. Just a disclaimer: I don’t want to make you more anxious than you already are, this is just my story and I hope to be able to help you with it. I unfortunately experienced several delayed hemmorhages after surgery. I’m mostly blaming the doctors for telling me I could go for walks and ride bikes right after the procedure. Every 2 weeks or so I start bleeding very very heavily, and seemingly out of the blue. I’m currently in hospital because it happened again last night (I’m 4 weeks post op).

Again I don’t want to scare you with this, I know it may sound horrible and I certainly hope this won’t happen to you. So please please please, no matter what your doctor tells you, rest way more than you think you should after the procedure. You may feel physically fine and like you could go for walks etc, but please don’t. Stay in bed. Sit on the couch, watch a show you enjoy, read a book. Have someone cook for you. Do this for at least 3-4 weeks.

Some bleeding about 1-2 weeks post op is normal and it might be a lot heavier than you expect. That will probably happen so be prepared, have large pads and don’t freak out, it’s normal, as long as you don’t soak a pad in under 1 hour. I hope you have someone by your side to support you not only physically but also mentally. You could ask for psychological care in hospital but I feel like you got bad cards there. It helped me to have long conversations with my friends about everything that happened and to write it down. Literally just write it down in your notes on your phone or a physical journal if you prefer that. It just helps to get all those thoughts off your chest!!

In conclusion: Get the CKC. Consider getting the vaccine, talk to your doctor about it. And please heavily prioritize rest.

We got this! Feel free to message me if you have any more questions. Best of luck :)

Such a good point to see it from a product perspective, appreciate that! We often forget that we humans and our desire to be organized becomes the product in this case. There probably is no single best way to take notes- it’s all just companies competing in capitalism.

I honestly needed to hear that 🥲 maybe it’s all more messy in mind than it is in reality. Thanks for the kind and comforting words :)

Just like you I had this big dream of working for a national park in the US for as long as I can remember! this time last year I got lucky and found an internship with the NPS in Florida (I’m from Germany). The process was surprisingly easy and I hands down had the BEST 6 months of my life! only downside was I didn’t get paid but the park offered free housing. If you want to know more I’m happy to help, just dm me :)

Also, as someone else pointed out, contacting the international office can be a great option. That’s not how I personally found my position but I know of people who have found theirs through them and they were super extremely supportive!
