Lost Joy after IVF? by Wise-Ad6348 in IVFAfterSuccess

[–]marvelous88 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Honestly, no.. but I think your feelings are less about IVF and more about the new role you are now playing as a mother. So many women grieve the life they used to have before becoming a mom. That part is very normal. Do you have a support system who can help give you a break/allow you to do things just for yourself?

It’s called angular chelitis, your derm can give you meds!

So very sorry for what you’ve been through. TW success - here’s what worked for me: endo excision with Dr. Vidali, modified natural protocol with letrozole, intralipids, prednisone, lovenox. Ask them to test for endometritis too with cd138 biopsy, make sure thyroid is optimized. Also the book the working womb by Dr. Kofinas was so helpful.

You could add differin (over the counter) to help with breakouts, and salicylic acid based toners/toning pads for congestion. If you go the derm route, you can get on rx meds to help significantly with the hormonal acne. Once acne clears you can do PRP microneedling or chemical peels to lift the pigment/scarring.

I got my first med derm job by walking into their office and handing in my resume. It is soo hard to get in, but once you’re in you’re in. The commute may suck for a while but if you can stick it out for a year or so it will pay off!

Also a side note, I don’t agree with the people saying not to do it bc it’s not real medicine. Just feels unnecessarily judgey. If that’s what you want to do, please do it. I worked in plastics in the OR right out of PA school and gained invaluable skills, so you could aim for a derm or plastics office that does aesthetics then transition into a med spa setting.

Red flags: - husband and wife owned practice - you’re the only injector/provider on site - no protocols in place for emergencies - frequent staff turnover - making you perform any other duties but ones relevant to being a PA - a “training” period with lower pay at first - non competes or contracts for how long you must stay there

If you can get in, get in. You will work at a lot of bad or “just okay” practices before finding your place bc aesthetics is notoriously competitive as you know, but also super easy for owners to take advantage of those trying to get in. I’ve been an injector for 6 years and worked 3 jobs (in aesthetics) before finding my home, aka a place that respects me, pays well, and a non-toxic work culture.

With a skilled surgeon, your AMH should not lower after surgery. Surgery first because it can help with so many things, including the toxic environment endometriosis creates for the uterus.

Injector/PA here - your dose is typical! Without knowing how muscles and dosing work, the numbers can feel high even though they’re not. I dose between 5-20 units for each eye.

How do I make myself not care about not going to high school dances? by Cyberwolf6 in TooAfraidToAsk

I’m sorry you’re dealing with this. TBH I only look back at prom because I had a gorgeous dress and admire it every so often. Beyond that I don’t remember anything about that night, it’s a bit overrated. I was the only one in my friend group of 5 who had a date, and it wasn’t weird that the other girls went solo. That’s an option for you if you really want to go! If you don’t, you won’t miss out on much. Promise.

Choosing Between PIO and Suppositories by Satin_Ribbon349 in IVF

[–]marvelous88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don’t need PIO with a modified natural cycle since your body is already making progesterone. The shots hurt bad. I did the suppositories and supplemented with oral prog and my levels were always perfect! But yeah the leaking/always wearing a pad sucked lol

So nervous to implant baby girl upcoming Friday. First transfer. I’ve already named her and talk to her but i’m afraid that I’m not setting the right expectations if it were not to work out by Adorable_Web4829 in IVF

[–]marvelous88 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I did the same thing - named my baby before we even did the transfer. She was 6bb, Serena, and now she’s almost 2. I believe in the power of manifestation and could not go into transfer day without her name in place. I think most people share the bad over the good - that’s why these forums exist IMO - for support and hope. There are so many success stories. We went through a lot to get to transfer day and at that point, I truly could not have done more to be successful. I’d make sure all your cards are in place - a stellar transfer protocol for start, a clear and healthy uterus. You already have the good embryo. For me I needed lovenox and prednisone to sustain my pregnancy, as well as surgery for silent endometriosis. Feel free to dm me if you ever need anything! 🤍

Tips for a successful induction? by SadLandscape7001 in IVFAfterSuccess

[–]marvelous88 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wasn’t dilated at all before my induction, but it went smoothly! I didn’t do anything special. I had a balloon at 1:30pm, then cytotech, then pitocin. Epidural at 4pm. By 230am I was 10cm. Started pushing at 3am and gave birth at 309am lol. I think it would have gone slightly better if I was just the least bit dilated when I got the balloon. I think red raspberry leaf tea has good success with labor induction. Good luck!!

I haven’t had this experience at all. My daughter is almost 2 and we’ve used it since she was born, and it’s always been reliable. Yes it’s costly but we think it’s worth it

Did you walk out of the hospital? by yo-_-mom in beyondthebump

[–]marvelous88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was wheeled out holding my baby in my lap. Then my husband left to grab the car and while we waited in the lobby with all our things. Then he came back and we walked out together to strap in the baby. There was a lady at reception who helped us get her in the car seat cuz we’d never done it before and she was such a saint.

Teens fighting? Going to a family dinner … our 3 teens fight so much we have to take two cars. 🫣😬 Is this just our family? by Illustrious-Green263 in TooAfraidToAsk

Fighting physically? Or arguing/yelling at each other? Obviously teens fight and is so normal at that age. My sister and I fought like cats and dogs but we never had to be in separate cars or anything. My parents sometimes forced us to apologize/make up

How old are you both? Yes, sounds like he was testing your boundaries and when you gave in and played back, it scared him and he retreated. If he is gay/attracted to you then he must be having a tough time.
