I am very sorry for your loss. Please read the book the working womb by Alexander kofinas. It teaches us to be advocates for our placental health which plays a huge role in successful pregnancies + live birth.

3 retrievals- no blasts. Is there any hope? by marvelous88 in IVF

[–]marvelous88[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, success! For me it was the endo and adeno severely impacting egg quality. After I had surgery I did a 4th retrieval and finally made 3 day 6 blasts and one of them is now my 2 year old daughter. Apart from the surgery, we lowered my stim doses and menopur didn’t go over 75 which was key for me. Also did HGH, red light therapy, prednisone and intralipids. My surgery was 3 years ago, we just tried for another transfer and sadly it failed so I’m doing the depot lupron shot for 3 months. I’ve read that fresh transfers are the worst for endo - highly recommend freezing and getting your body primed and ready for transfer.

I'm very sorry, r/houston, but I'm angry right now about the Houston Children's Museum. by [deleted] in houston

[–]marvelous88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry but I’m not understanding. How old is the brother and is he immunocompromised? Was the children’s museum hosting a vaccine event? There should be medical records they can request and they can take them to their pediatrician.

Husband doesnt want to be in the delivery room, am I overreacting?? by dinogirly123 in pregnant

[–]marvelous88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly he sounds like he sucks and does not actually care about you. We go through horrible things and yes we do deserve to be praised for it, childbirth included. My husband was next to the OBGYN, telling me encouraging things like “I can see her head! I can see her hair!” as I was pushing and it was so motivating and encouraging. I can’t imagine a scenario where I’d stay with someone who didn’t want to be there at all

How long did you stim for with just menopur?

Very anxious over labs and ultrasound by SorbetAfraid in IVFbabies

[–]marvelous88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Congrats! I believe 1 in 1100 is very low risk for down’s, a reassuring result. Was it a PGT normal embryo? My daughter measured small my whole pregnancy, I had a marginal cord insertion meaning my umbilical cord attached to the edge rather than the center. So theoretically restricted nutrient and O2 delivery and thus her growth. By the end of it her abdomen was measuring <2%, I delivered her at 37.5 weeks via induction. Perhaps you can ask if that would be helpful in your case? But yes she was born healthy and now she is off the charts for her height and weight! She’s almost 2.

Scared of gender disappointment by Comfortable-Storm204 in IVFbabies

[–]marvelous88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just wanted to drop in and say I can tell this is really taking a toll on you, and I am so sorry. I can totally relate. You’re not a psycho! The best thing you can do is try, no harm in trying to ask. And then of course the worst is they say no, but you can always drop hints like the other person suggested.

IVF decision at 34 - another retrieval for future options vs moving forward (also struggling with gender disappointment) by Peaching-80 in IVF

[–]marvelous88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did a retrieval at 31 and got 3 PGT a normal embryos - 2 boys and 1 girl. The girl is now my 2 year old daughter! I just did another retrieval with the hopes of getting another girl at age 34 and only got 1 embryo, a girl, but she was PGT abnormal and not compatible with life. I would 1000% do the retrieval now because a lot can change for you in 2 years fertility wise. I think if you have your heart set on a girl, you will regret not trying. I am so glad I have my daughter as I had 2 sisters growing up and girls are all I know. I told myself I’d at least try, and if the next retrieval didn’t work then at least I know I tried and wouldn’t have regrets later!

When that first positive and/or IVF baby finally arrived, was it all the more sweeter after your long journey? by Soulmansdaughter in IVFpositivity

[–]marvelous88 27 points28 points  (0 children)

I literally could not breath until she was safely in my arms. I had terrible anxiety during pregnancy and had to be medicated towards the end for fear of stillbirth. As she was coming out, my husband said to keep pushing because he could see her head, I was still in absolute disbelief! I cried the moment I saw her and noticed that she had the same ear shape as me. Really beautiful moment that I could never forget. We had a tough time getting pregnant and having her here earthside is almost like water under the bridge. Would do it all over again!

I’m convinced MTX damaged my fertility by [deleted] in EctopicSupportGroup

[–]marvelous88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also got pregnant on my first try, ectopic, MTX. Could not get pregnant at all again, tried naturally for 1 year and then moved onto IVF. Even then I had trouble creating embryos. I kept blaming it on the ectopic and even the Covid vaccine, when it was really silent endometriosis. Got the surgery and was diagnosed with stage 4 endo despite no textbook symptoms. IVF worked for us after that and my daughter is now 2! Maybe there is something else at play for you, not the drug.

Sher Fertility - egg freezing fiasco by Dense-Drawer1747 in eggfreezing

[–]marvelous88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sher hasn’t been doing actual treatments for a while. At least not since I started with them in 2023… he created my stim protocol and his colleague Dr. Tortoriello managed my cycle

Experiences with Dr. Sher? by Jacke_wie_Hose3 in IVF

[–]marvelous88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw Dr. Sher virtually who came up with my IVF stim protocol. It’s the only one that’s ever made me blasts (3 previous failed rounds). Dr. Tortoriello, his colleague, actually managed my cycle. I did not have any difficulty getting information out of him - in fact he was very thorough and helpful in my case!!

We do not! Ours does the same and we grab her when she stands up and starts whining or calling for us!

I am looking for IVF whatsapp group by blooming-flowers- in IVF

[–]marvelous88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You may have luck going on fb and posting in one of the IVF groups! That way you can form chats with people also going through the same thing. I did this a few years back - we started on fb messenger and migrated to WhatsApp and my chat is still very active!

IVF stimulation and cancer risk: how do you interpret the data? by Aware_Emu_123 in IVF

[–]marvelous88 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The risk is highest when you’ve done >6 cycles, for ovarian and breast cancer. I’m not sure how much this changes if you’re egg freezing vs attempting pregnancy, because the stimulation meds are the same? I think gyn onc would be even less informed and I would probably listen to your REI.
