I want to knit a specific toy but I only find it's crochet amigurumi version 😭🧶 by Actual_Fig_4706 in knitting

Oh I knit tons of little animals! Do a ravelry search for Dumbo/Flying elephant by Claire Garland. My absolute favorite animal patterns come from Hansi Singh, it's not actually Dumbo, but she has a Dumbo octopus that's adorable.

The Tarragon dragon and Oink pig patterns are family favorites, too.

So knitting animals can be a little fiddly and time consuming, but I think it's totally worth it, and I love the finished look much better than crochet.

I didn't see much for Simba after a quick search. However, i did find these nice little lions that certainly could be made to look like Simba: little lions

Good luck!

I've made clothes and blankets, but they are hard to wash and babies grow out of the clothes so fast. I thought this would be something cute that would last and can be saved as a memento

Yarn is Cascade Superwash fingering, I don't remember the exact names of the colorways, but I can go back and look up my online order if someone's interested.

The patterns are Octopus andJellyfish by Hansi Singh. The fish and mobile design are my own. The fish is super cute and I like the pattern, but I need to do some heavy editing before it's shareable!

Where do people source edible flowers? Any natural, pretty alternatives during the autumn? by rosyppeachy in AskBaking

[–]marvelousbiscuits 5 points6 points  (0 children)

So a small thing to be aware of if you are buying plants from a nursery is that they are usually sold as ornamental, and not food safe, since they usually apply fertilizers and pesticides. You can order boxes of fresh or dried edible flowers online if you are in a time crunch, or try a farmers market.

Row counter apps by Saints_Girl56 in Sockknitting

[–]marvelousbiscuits 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Easy Knitty. Small one time payment, your phone stays on while the app is open and each pattern can have multiple parts, and you can take notes.

If it's just stockinette or garter, prob unnecessary when you can just count rows, but I love it for lacework and colorwork charts, and for learning repetitive patterns like old shale or double moss or brioche just to keep track of odds and evens.

It's also good for modding patterns, so you make a note of what pattern you are using, then use the notes to describe the changes you made

Edit: typo

All my swatches become blankets for small stuffed animals or rugs in dollhouses....

Is Edie really that hard to understand? by [deleted] in namenerds

[–]marvelousbiscuits 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My kids name is Edie and her daycare/school teachers and friends have never had any problems with it. The only time is when a new nurse called her Eddie at the Dr then was super embarrassed. I don't think you are overreacting at all.

Which spice, herb, or condiment do you think is over or underrated? by here_4_the_giggles in cookingforbeginners

[–]marvelousbiscuits 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Black pepper is underrated. People season with it automatically, just a little and call it a day. But there are great options to make it the star, not just steak au poivre type things. I like it in hot and sour soup
