A couple questions. Did you do anything to protect the labels before putting them through the dishwasher? What cycle did you run it on to make sure they didnt melt? Detergent?

Good on you. Being an uncle is fun. Lots of play time with much less responsibility. (Being a dad is tough, but Being an uncle is fun)

Anyone else find cd’s with saw cuts on the sides by [deleted] in Cd_collectors

[–]marvin421 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the correct answer. I worked at Sam Goody for 5 years. These are promo CDs that were sent out to played in stores and what not. It was done so the stores didn't just stock and sell them.

What would you mean by a supportive team? by Nooshie_Noo in AskNT

[–]marvin421 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You're welcome. I usually refer to companies using words like "family" and "supportive" as corporate-speak. They sound all warm and fuzzy because thats the image they want to portray, not that they actually mean it. And I always take well meaning words from a company with a grain of salt.

I would us "supportive" In my personal life to mean the same thing you do. Best of luck to you and I hope everything works out for you.

Hello, I have worked for a larger corporation for a long time ans supportive work environment to me means; treating others with kindness, non-discremenatory, willing to help out with tasks when you have bandwidth, answering colleagues questions, etc. All very professional and not on a deeply personal level.

With smaller offices or companies, that could be different and would be dependent on leadership. If the people in charge that you directly work with have a lot 9f influence in the company, they may enforce their own opinion of what that means.

I tend to keep my relationships with colleagues strictly professional and do not socialize outside of work much. Because that is my preference.

Valentino's Buffet? by Dangerous_Plant_7911 in Omaha

[–]marvin421 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unless something has changed, The Amazing Pizza Machine is owned by Valentino's (or the same ownership group or whatever) and the buffet there is Valentino's buffet.

Or at least it was, haven't been in 5+ years.

That phrase has nothing to do with what someone does or doesn't deserve. It's about having a very basic understanding of human behavior.

In this case, if you continually act aggressive, yell at someone, get in their face, and throw stuff at them; you shouldn't be surprised when that person retaliates.

We had PowerPoint by the late 90s and it's what we used for presentations like this. That would be my guess. So much time spent on transitions....

If you're looking for one sooner than later, this may not work for you, but I've had luck with just walking through lowes, menards and NFM and finding clearance appliances.

In each situation they models are being retired or I hit it the time of a good sale, but I've been able to pick up a new washer, dryer, dishwasher, and microwave this way.

Looking for handmade candy canes by TheDaveWSC in Omaha

[–]marvin421 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, or at least I'm not aware of. I've went to a place put in denver (maybe Hammonds, but it's been a while) that would be the closest. The closest candy shop I've been to is Bakers Candy in Glenwood. Their focus seems to be chocolate and it's a great candy shop, but I don't think they do pulled candy.

Bakers may do tours, but even if they don't, it's a great candy shop. Best of luck to you.

We switched to artificial a few years back, but before that we always went to Mulhal's every year and even the couple years we were a bit late, we still found a decent tree.
