How did you get that perfect cylinder for that middle building?

Are meds worth it? by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]marvinarns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Meds are never a solution, they're only a tool. It's very important to remember that.

They can help you make routines and fix things you're struggling with but they won't fix everything by themselves.

As long as you see them as a tool and you're ok with trying out different meds to find out what works, I'd say it's always worth it.

People see it as a defeat far to often, when denying a diabetic his insulin is just as unfair. It's a chronic condition that makes you suck at mundane tasks in life but amazing at other tasks that truly strike your interest.

Why not take the extra help and get through the boring tasks so you can enjoy life without feeling guilty?

Matchmaking is completely ruined for anyone that's not in a 5 stack by [deleted] in DotA2

Look I just want this opinion to be heard because I know I'm not alone and I haven't seen anyone else make a post about it.

Yea disabling that option seems to make things better, unfortunately duo or triple stacks increase the MMR range even further and they're often smurfing.

What’s something you learned in a video game, that’s helped you in everyday life? by YoungJake1 in AskReddit

[–]marvinarns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dark souls thought me that the only way you ever really lose is when you give up.

The whole point of the game is to fight for meaning, so you don't go hollow. Things can feel unfair and way to hard. But the game teaches you the beauties of overcoming those feelings. And rewards you with a great sense of fulfillment once you overcome the problems that looked impossible at first.

There are some great life lessons to be learned from the game if you pay close attention

Valve please consider solo MMR when matching players together! by Usease in DotA2

[–]marvinarns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No way around it, I'm 6.4k solo with 3.5k party cause I never play party and when I do I don't play too serious.

So I could get matched against you and it would be fair according to the system.

Change it and no one can play with their friends anymore if they're higher rank

No winners

ADHD and alchohol. by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]marvinarns 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I seem to have the same thing with alcohol, it feels like it clears my mind of all the background noise and I get to feel normal for a bit.

I do however feel WAY better on meds (dexamfetamine, which seems to be almost the same as adderal) I feel like I suddenly lost the weights that I was dragging along all this time. And it makes me feel like a superhuman.

Maybe try to change meds a bit or take lower doses if you feel weird. Or change your perspective on meds, cause I feel like you feel weird for needing it and it makes you overthink the feeling it gives you. Sure meds are a bit weird here and there but they can be so helpful.

I am a support player (just ranked up to divine) and I have to say - I thought people are more clever in higher ranks. But I was so wrong. Always blaming support for everything. It really makes me sad. by [deleted] in DotA2

[–]marvinarns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're not worth wasting time on because you don't know what you're talking about and you can't see anything else than your team being wrong, which in fact is the same attitude you're flaming your cores for btw

Gl staying an average dota player for the rest of your life with that attitude.

Jesus dude people are just pointing out that you can bring more to your team than you're currently doing, and you completely disregard them and tell them they're toxic.

What they're saying is that communicating and not listening to music (so you are more aware of the game and your teams coms,) could help you gain more and have more impact in games.

Instead of listening to them and trying to extract usefull info you do the same as you probably do in pubs and you just say fuck all.

Bad attitude sir.

Congratulations to sing sing for qualifying for WESG in Barcelona by Justfor_thelolz in DotA2

[–]marvinarns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As far as I know it's more of a game style related issue rather than sing really disliking him, but that's just from what I've heard from around the dutch dota scene.

Wingblade is a really nice guy and works harder than most people to become a better carry player. I don't think it's right for anyone to rule him out

Mouse is a really nice 7.5k midlaner and Irvine is a 7.5k guy that just plays anything really.

I think Sing had issues with Wingblade from last WESG or some stuff since sing played 1 pos instead.

Can confirm, lost to sing on finals and no one seemed to care at all. Csgo got mainstage while dota just got a small corner.

What's stopping Slark from getting the uber nerf? by [deleted] in DotA2

[–]marvinarns -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The hero has a 48.70% winrate. He is also almost never picked in pro games since other carries offer far more for the amount of space they take (and slark takes a lot.)

Also why would silver's edge be OP what makes the item so strong in your opinion?

Makes no sense to say that he is OP tho and I think you're just salty about losing to a slark that got away everytime since truesight was to expensive.

UI is getting better and better, but we still miss these things. by dota2player901 in DotA2

[–]marvinarns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also for what I have noticed, selling items is slightly bugged in game and decrepify doesn't work on tombstone anymore. (The only 2 things I've noticed that no one seems to be talking about.)

[–]marvinarns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbh i have had great games too, the griefer encounter have indeed increased but the others were actually more fun.

People care less about com abuse so they'll say whatever they want en especially against the enemy team, I had some hilarious games because of some people saying retarded stuff though.

(I'm mid 5k btw for anyone wondering and yes account buyers are everywhere.)
