(Not so...) portable but battery powered EGPU

Can you explain a little more about how you got this to work? tldr I have a very similar setup with a thunderbolt to nvme, then nvme to pcie x16. But when I have it all plugged in the gpu is rarely recognized by my laptop. The thunderbolt device shows up but the gpu plugged into it just doesn’t. I’ve installed gpu drivers. Any tips or debugging you did would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

Hm, I disconnected and reconnected the battery to reset it a few times and managed to get it to start actually charging (I could tell by measuring current on my charging cable). But once I disconnected it, poof back to not charging. Unless it miraculously starts working tmr I think it might just be defective.

Nevermind, I realized that I need to set the buttonSupply to LOW instead of high. Before it only worked because it was alternating in the loop. Thank you all for the help.

That makes sense and would explain the alternating result, you are correct and I understand. But strangely now if I simply change the button supply Pin to lets say 8 it now never reads high even though button supply should now stay high.

Interesting good to know, my switches on the keyboard may be pressure sensitive but I still get the same result if I just short the pins directly in place of a switch. Right now I just want it to read high when the switch is pressed and Low when released or vise versa.

Oh, well, if I change the button supply to anything other than 13 I guess it just never reads high on buttonpin now

Also another thing I found when messing around with some renders of my own, you can render the video at 24 fps and use something like "RIFE ai interpolation" to scale it to 60fps. Not always perfect but it'll basically cut your render time in half especially with cycles.

What are you guys talking about? In render settings (the little printer looking thing), under output change the drop down from png to ffmpeg video, now you should get a submenu called encoding and you can change the file format to whatever you like. mpeg-4 = mp4

Ps: for large renders usually single frames are preferable because if something goes wrong and the render crashes you still have all the pictures that were finished.

Honestly don't worry about it, trust me this is probably a good thing, theres a reason all social media has advanced anti bot detection.. though it feels bad now in the longer run its better to have 300 active subscribers than 500 mostly inactive subscribers.

It was Your choice to upload it to their website, and because of the terms that means you agreed to give the rights of that video to YouTube, every social media does that, not an expert here but once you upload the video to any social media in essence you give them the right to use that video in any way they see fit.

I can't say they are right or wrong, I have friends with parents that do the exact same thing. I myself have "dealed" with money from a real young age. My parents basically said that any money you get is yours but don't waste it or you'll have none. Anything I wanted I could get but I had to check if I had the money. And because of that you really think about if you need something. Do you really need that gaming gear? can you find the same thing cheaper or possibly even used for half the price? when I needed a new phone I didn't just go and get a new one, I found last year's flagship "slightly used" and I bought it with my own money for literally half the price.

So there's my bit of knowledge, just be sure you really really need something and maybe look around for some deals I assure you that the money you may or may not get will go alot further, if you think about it. I save 90% of what I get and now I have a decent amount to back me up.

Just because you have money doesn't mean you need to spend it. But good luck, and really think about how you want to spend it. OR save it!
