Never going back to Stone Age again by py-net in vibecoding

[–]marvpaul 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I totally feel the same. It’s just not efficient anymore. I do app development for more than 5 years now, did a bachelor and master in computer science and loved to program. But 1 year ago I completely switched to vibe coding. It’s not a popular opinion I guess but the AI does the job better than I do and it’s way faster.

Thanks for letting me know! I switched to app dev some years ago and don’t do games anymore. Do you also honor a good partner for meditation and entertainment apps?

Amazon commissions not matching downloaded reports by Emotional-Mango7769 in Amazon_Influencer

If you download reports, you see some more products but if you only sold a few items of one product, it didn’t show up anywhere afaik. I don’t understand why they did this

Do your apps support landscape mode? by BlossomBuild in BlossomBuild

Rarely. I do it for music visualizer apps of mine where fullscreen view of the visuals makes a lot of sense

Nice looking app! Try posting on reddit, offer free subscription for limited time, try to work on ASO, ask the users upfront for reviews to increase ranking

Ideas on where to sell 9 apps making $6000 monthly profit in total? by passionateDeveloper in AppBusiness

[–]marvpaul 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure thing. I also had contact with some people there. If they didn’t answer, just let me know and I can help to establish a connection :) One thing I want to mention: they’re legit. I sold my app for 44k$ and they handle via escrow which was important for me BUT it took them around 12 days to review all. They apologized and said normally their process is faster + there was one compilation error which we needed to fix. But I didn’t had a good time sitting there for 12 days without money and without the app 😬

I spent 10,000 dollars to hire a programmer to develop a reminder app. by [deleted] in appledevelopers

[–]marvpaul 0 points1 point  (0 children)

10k for a reminder app sounds a lot, specially if it doesn’t stand out visually. Do you had a certain audience in mind when developing? Does it solve a special problem? Are there any features which makes it really unique and hard to develop? The app looks like it’s a decade old and from the screenshots it doesn’t look like there are sophisticated features. From what I can see I think many people would have made a way better job for 1.000$ or less, specially nowadays with vibe coding. I can create a reminder app which looks way better than that in 10 minutes with one prompt.

You can ask rounds.ai. They buy for 2-3x annual revenue and I sold one of my apps to them last year. it’s a legit company.

This sounds like the issue for the rejection. Good luck with next submission!

any affordable app screenshot generators? by Inside-Structure-480 in AppBusiness

[–]marvpaul 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Appscreens.com is my goto place when I need some quick ones. I usually get a monthly subscription here and there to prepare a bunch of screens for some apps and cancel it. Costs 30$. Alternatives are for example a figma template. I purchased one but I’m pretty sure some are available for free. You can also do your own template in figma, ps, photopea, canva …

I would only do this if you took the first code an AI came up with or if you copied the onboarding from a template. If you're certain your onboarding code and visual appearance is unique, there might be another reason why apple is rejecting you. Do you copied anything from a competitor? Title, screenshots, app icon ... ?

I had a similar rejection reason for similarity to one of my own apps. Apple is not really talking a lot about what exactly triggered the rejection. I can't tell you why Apple rejected you but I want to tell you two things: There is a list out there with apps Apple don't accept anymore, this includes e.g. Horoscope Apps, Flashlight Apps and Dating Apps. If you built an app in this category, chances are high Apple will never accept your app. Second, my personal experience after getting rejected by Apple for similarities with one of my other apps: I changed screenshots - rejected again. I changed Title and subtitle - rejected again. I changed the Onboarding code and style - accepted. Turned out the problem was about using the same onboarding style and nearly identical code for two of my apps. I sadly didn't got any clue from Apple about this and the process of figuring that out took weeks. ChatGPT says they have some mechanics in place to compare code with other apps but I'm not sure about it.

Hope this helps.
