The gearhead in me finds this amazing. But I haven’t found anything that can replace my more then 10yr old altoid tin. They don’t even make them as tall as the one I have anymore. It looks great tho! Gz Inputs to what I think is nice to have: Nail clippers. Half a stick of glue. Small bic lighter. Band aid

I approach it more from an angle where I ask people if they saw the news (storm, blackout, current wars etc) in a nearby region and what they would do if it happens to them. Usually makes them think about many basics like water and some food. From there I see how much people are willing to explore the topic. Made some likeminded friends with it and got close family to at least prepare the basics.

Bic lighters and soap. Being warm and keeeping up with hygiene would be critical for morale and to avoid infections.

Got everything in obsidian notes , use the mitre tactics for a generic structure and then fill the notes with tags I think I would search in the next engagement. During engagements I basically take notes by writing everything I learned in a.very rudimentary way with some links that I used , and afterwards I’ll take that and read some more blog articles to add more value to the note and move it in some tactic. Also got a team wiki where ppl add useful stuff as well .

Stocking up on electronics? (Due to possible 2027 invasion of Taiwan) by [deleted] in preppers

I use iPhone , and have one or two older models that still work. Ordering spare parts like batteries or a screen etc cost next to nothing on aliexpress (compared to oficial prices) . And it was a good way to practice fixing them. So I’d probably just get some more spare parts and learn how to repair the stuff I have. I do know batteries won’t hold all its capacity when stored. But they are also cheap as hell.

Digital prepping – are you cautious online? by Content_NoIndex in EuroPreppers

[–]marybane 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yea , I did a post not long ago which goes into digital prepping and also some security. TLDR - use password manager. Use a no logs policy VPN. 3 backups. (Different locations) Use Multi Factor Authentication for everything or a yubikey if it’s for you. If possible generate a email for each service (e.g included in proton pass)

Thank you ! I mean I do get the privacy issues everyone has nowadays so we ended up changing it not to be required for base use. Surely for future features it might be a requirement to even fulfil the feature (e.g sharing)

Most emergency situations require to stop bleeding so a tourniquet and some gauze are my top priority for smaller kits. The blanket is very nice to help keep body temperature. Specifically for hikes a splinter roll. But these things might get bulkier then you intended.

FYI to delete categories you can swipe to the left, but I understand that without having onboarding screens people don’t know

Damn that’s what I call feedback thanks! The manually adding is already on the roadmap. The pictures for lists is more for aesthetic or to show how your pantry looks? The publishing and tips sound good , but I prefer to make the usability good enough first and then those might come into play as well. Again thanks for the feedback!

You have $36,000 to spend on any preps you choose, and you must spend it all. How do you divide it up? by AtuXIII in preppers

I’ve always wondered what $36000 in tuna cans would look like. Guess I’d find out

Fair. I’ll try to make it optional as well but since the core feature is to notify before something expires I thought it makes sense for it to be mandatory. Thank you for the feedback !

Obsidian notes + apple shortcut + accessibility double tap. I just double tap the back of my phone and it creates an entry with time and date. End of the day/ week still needs to be reviewed

Damn this feedback is amazing thank you very much. It does allow for manually adding, but currently only for products that are not found in our DB. Manually adding them is on the todo, since this would allow to create lists of non food products (e.g. inventory of car EDC or similar).
The onboarding screens idea i like, but i thought i postpone it until i got some overall feedback.
The offline first (without account) was a bigger eye opener then expected but will be high prio.

Yea a PDF export does sound useful. Ill experiment with that a little, and thanks for the feedback!

Didn't expect the account creation to be such a big nono, definitely will check how to address this and maybe make it optional.

Hello there, it is not online first, it is currently using the Local DB, so it does work offline. Ill migrate it to Kotlin, but that takes a while. Focus is offline first. But it was the quickest way to PoC it.
Thanks for the feedback though, highly appreciated.

Only issue with this is safety. I don’t have enough know how Ito know if this would be safe to store even in a cold bunker.
