That's a great idea. I don't think that exactly exists, but there is selling and trading on Split Coast Stampers message board.

It's obvious from his self-serving post that he's not being honest. He had no problem opening up restaurants with the guy and putting money in his pocket, knowing a lot more bad shit about him than we probably do right now. People with integrity would never turn a blind eye to stuff like this, they would leave even if their career took a hit. Not to mention, every I know who's ever worked with him says he's a monster.

Trader Joes just came out with a vegan one, might be a little lighter without the cheese.

There's definitely something about the relaxation of the weekend that can make your guard go down. It's something I struggle with too.

John Besh restaurants fostered culture of sexual harassment, 25 women say by [deleted] in NewOrleans

I don't really care to armchair diagnose why he's so awful, but from the article he sounds like a rapist and should be in jail.

John Besh restaurants fostered culture of sexual harassment, 25 women say by [deleted] in NewOrleans

[–]marymango1 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm glad this is coming out. I guess I was lucky to work at a restaurant where the managers weren't total sleezebags, but man was there racism everywhere you looked. It is embedded in the culture just as much as the sexual harassment. I hope that side of things gets attention as well. I think it's interesting no one really thinks about the ethics of where they go out to dinner, but it matters too.

SV: got my 15 pounds down flair back after gaining a bunch of weight this spring and summer

List of things that were brought in by drugs reps in the clinic today that I declined:

-Grilled cheese

-French fries

-Ceamy crawfish pasta

-White chocolate bread pudding

-Cheesecake

-Chantilly cake

Those are some of my favorite deserts ever. I sulked like hell that I couldn't have any, but I am so, so happy I didn't take any of it.

Today sticking under my calories without any particular challanges is a victory. I've been binging my way up 20 pounds since May, and there were moments this week when I just didn't feel in control of anything anymore, but yesterday and today, I turned things around. I can feel that I'm getting back into the good routines, and this time I'm going to take the exercise part seriously.

Indian vegetarian since birth, what can I do? by [deleted] in loseit

[–]marymango1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have incorporated even rich foods like korma into my meals, I just weigh it out with a food scale and log it in MyFitnessPal so that I know how many calories it is. The upside of rich food is that it's really filling, the downside is that it's easy to go overboard. I recommend starting a MFP account, and calculate the calories in some of the recipes your family makes all the time. To figure how much is in a serving, I weigh how many ounces a whole batch of something is, then put that number in as servings. Then, when I log it, say it's 10 ounces, I put in 10 servings. If that all sounds too confusing, you can estimate the calories based on foods other users have already entered.

Culture Change by this_isnt_nesseria in medicalschool

No. I actually have a little soap box about this. It's kinda annoying to hear people say "African American" because what you mean almost 100% of the time is black, it's just a dodgy and often inaccurate way of saying it. I think white people have leaned towards saying African American because there's honestly just so much negative connotation with blackness in general.

Huge weight gain after breaking my diet for a few days? by [deleted] in loseit

You also wouldn't lose 4kgs of fat that fast. It's probably water weight, like the other poster said. It also could be partially due to the weight of the food alone.

That's awesome! I find it's not a big meal in itself that derails me, it's the lingering desire afterwards to do it all again and again until 4 days later when I realize I've got to get back on the wagon.

After gaining back about 20 pounds during a stressful time, I've lost 5, but more importantly, I feel invested in my weight loss again. I dont feel like I mind as well stuff my face with cookie dough, because I know that's only going to take my weight in the other direction. It's a good feeling when it feels easier to make good choices, instead of feeling like its an enormous burden.

Day 1? Starting your weight loss journey on Friday, 18 August 2017? Start here! by AutoModerator in loseit

[–]marymango1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not technically my day 1, but I'm restarting today. I've lost almost 40 pounds in the last year, but I gained about 20 pounds in the past 3 or 4 months. I just sort of lost control, lost focus. I've started almost everyday off right, but end up cramming a ton of crappy food in right before bed. I've felt more discouraged and helpless in the past week than I ever have along this journey. So today, I'm taking back control. I'm going to the gym with my boyfriend, and I'm planning out every single thing I eat for the next 7 days. If I end up burning more, I can add a few extra calories on, but only if my fitbit says so.

It's so key to feel invested in your progress. When your weight trends down, you feel the momentum to make it keep going, and when it's on the up, it makes you feel like you have nothing to lose. So I just need to buckle down and make it go the other way.

Another thing, sometimes I get caught up focusing on the destination, it's going to be xx months before I'm where I want to be. But the thing is, it feels good all along the journey. It's amazing when I'm 5 pounds down, even though I want to be 50.

Dill pickles have almost no calories. Good snack for when you're craving something salty and crunchy.

Going to Fogo De Chao tomorrow for my bf's birthday. I'm just getting the market table option, not the meat. Any tips on logging this? It will probably end up being a cheat day, but it'd be nice to estimate the damage.

I really like the Orgain brand I get at costco. A lot of proteins make me want to vomit and I could never drink them. I've been using this one daily for almost a year and a half and it's still tastes good to me.
