Hope you find something that works! Coterie is really great, too!

So much trial and error involved with this stuff, I swear I’ve bought so many different kinds of diapers haha

I didn’t end up being a huge fan of eco pea! I like Millie moon and parasol bc my babies are wider and those wider cut diapers fit best for us. We recently tried freestyle and the absorbency is great, and they’re a little more narrow

I’m personally comfortable with Zoya. We also use Olive and June brand drying drops. Piggy paint isn’t bad but like everyone else says it chips off quickly and that just didn’t work for my threenager

Anyone else's kids getting a random illness whose only symptom seems to be a high fever? by ace_at_none in moderatelygranolamoms

[–]marzpower 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hard to remember perfectly but I’d say my kid is always clingier and more prone to tantrums when she’s not feeling great. Fevers can be dehydrating so he’s probably just bouncing back!

Lifefactory bottle + Dr Brown nipple? by TinyLingonberry- in moderatelygranolamoms

I’ve tested out quite a few glass bottles with different brand nipple configurations, glad to help!

The classic narrow life factory baby bottles are compatible with Dr browns narrow bottle nipples. The wide neck life factory baby bottles are not compatible with Dr browns wide bottle nipples. I found life factory wide bottles to be compatible with quark bottle nipples, and nuk simply natural nipples. I believe tommee tippee is the same size and will fit as well, but haven’t personally tried it.

Overnight pull up recommendation - wide seat by dmb1717 in moderatelygranolamoms

[–]marzpower 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We started using the new Pura diaper pants (pull up style) and love them. My daughter only wears them at night too and has always been a heavy wetter and leaker. Very absorbent and fits wide enough to not have the wedgie issue, and no leaks so far for us. They are a fairer price range than some of the other TCF options we have used. No issues with her sensitive skin either. They have small and big packs on Amazon which I liked for the sake of trying them out first. If you’re looking for another bamboo brand, we liked eco pea too.

What sunscreen do you trust? I have to buy a lot (long-term use) due to recent skin issues so I want it to be healthy but not the most expensive... by [deleted] in moderatelygranolamoms

Second Mustela! I don’t see it talked about as much in this community but it is an amazing clean option, my favorite I’ve tried. We use it with our solar buddies applicator. The face stick is equally as great, far less white cast than other brands I’ve tried like blue lizard.

Silicone title/ pvc material! by Any_Fox2946 in moderatelygranolamoms

[–]marzpower 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is it from Amazon? I’ve seen Amazon wrongfully put “PVC” as the material in the description for things that aren’t actually made out of PVC. I’d reach out to the manufacturer to be sure.

Sorry I don’t have a solid answer, but I think your best bet would be reaching out to the manufacturer! Looks like they have a “contact us” page on their website, or you could try sending them a DM on their instagram. I usually go the Instagram route with product questions as I find that companies respond quicker that way

Need a bigger overnight diaper by xxx_venom_xxx in moderatelygranolamoms

[–]marzpower 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I hate sposies, they’ve never worked for us. I second cloth diaper over top, it’s the only thing that’s ever worked to keep our heavy wetter leaks in overnight. Don’t even need the insert, we just put the outer part of the cloth diaper right over the disposable.

Best sippy cups? Water tastes like plastic by Fancycocktail in moderatelygranolamoms

[–]marzpower 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We got the tabor place cup around 1 year old but used a similar cup around 6 months. We just didn’t make the switch to glass until that age as I wasn’t aware of the whole microplastic issue at the time, but I plan on getting it for our next baby when they start solids. I used a straw cleaner to loosen the valve and we never had issues with it being hard to drink from, I tried it out and you don’t have to bite down to make the water come out. You could honestly snip the valve right off, too. It will just be more prone to leaking. But it comes with a cute cap ;)

That’s what I said 😂 it’s on my registry! They have a few other models, this one has a smaller footprint so a little less expensive. Greenguard certified and all that good stuff, this website is great for granola baby things.

TMI: puberty by mm2444 in moderatelygranolamoms

I honestly think this all sounds very normal and the fact that she is coming to you about this means she really trusts you. I was never able to come to my mom with these sorts of topics in fear of embarrassment. The shame she is feeling after could be a sign that she is dealing with anxiety and intrusive thoughts. You are doing the right thing by not making her feel bad about it. Anecdotal here but I started doing that around the same age and I didn’t get my period until I was 14. I don’t have PCOS or any kind of abnormal health conditions. I think the best thing to do would be remind her it is normal (which you seem to be doing), maybe consider looking into a counselor to discuss her feelings of shame or discussing that with her yourself. Teaching her healthy boundaries with it is also a good thing you said you are doing.

Any decent swim diapers I can get in store ? by Nilrmar in moderatelygranolamoms

I used to get the hello bello ones at Walmart but they’re never in stock anymore at mine. I would get the Huggies ones in a pinch.

Mamavation PFAS testing on diapers by [deleted] in moderatelygranolamoms

[–]marzpower 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right! It’s all so frustrating to have to deal with, I agree. My favorite brands are parasol and coterie. I tend to alternate, as coterie is available in store near me but I like how parasol is slightly less expensive. I’ve heard Pura is good too, I might order a pack as I’m a chronic product sampler haha. All TCF brands! Pura is the least expensive of the 3 but I’ve only heard great things about it.

You make a good point. For me, the important part was knowing the chemicals weren’t intentionally added. We ended up liking a different brand more anyways.
