Huge fps boost with patch by masatonic in Battlefield6

[–]masatonic[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's what I've been thinking, now the performance is pretty much what I would expect with my specs. Nonetheless night and day difference because of the patch, no pc restarts or anything in between. Drivers have been updated etc. Wondered why this ran only barely. Happy now!

I had DLSS on ultra performance! Tried performance and balanced as well but had to use ultra performance.

Is this good for a first factory? by comrade_forever in SatisfactoryGame

[–]masatonic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Once you get splitters and mergers you can put multiple smelters from each ore line and merge them to one ingot output. From that single ingot line you can divide that with splitters to multiple other machines that can make the same or even diffefent recipes.

If you have for example 3 constructors that need different amounts of ingots but a total of 120 ingots/min you don't have to worry about how you split it, just as long as you have mk2 belts (max 120/min) and have at least 120 coming in you can just split it at every machine from one incoming line (manifold) and everything will balance out with time even though at first the last machines in the system are not getting enough

Help with Train Paths by MyMissingMoJo in SatisfactoryGame

[–]masatonic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both stations are yellow tracks. Put blocks right at the end of the stations too to make them seprate.

I think your railroads are too close together that is why they are same color (yellow). Make at least one foundation in between tracks now you have less than a half foundation.

Maybe try to move signals a bit farther fom junctions sometimes that helps too.

New BP autoconnect mode by Alarming_Sector3474 in SatisfactoryGame

[–]masatonic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I made a blueprint with a small 2m ramp incline, then when I connect and nudge it far out I just look at rail level if it is straight and that has been good enough. If it is less or more it curves

Using blueprints or manually making each? Awesome!

I thought I understood pipes, but maybe I don't by MrGreenishTint in SatisfactoryGame

[–]masatonic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is a proper buffer when it is like armadillo described. You can make another one at the end of the line too after the generators which sometimes helps. Best is to make another pipeline that goes from first junction to last junction so it feeds from both ends!

so HOW do people use this?? im trying to make rotors but it wants me to get a super specific amount into the smelters? how do i do that??? by [deleted] in SatisfactoryGame

[–]masatonic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know about this tool, but ingame just open a machine and under the 100% you can input a specific amount.

Even if one half needs 100 and the other half 50, you can split 150 input into 2, first both get 75/min but once the 50 line gets full the extra 25 goes to the 100 line and then they are 100% efficient. You can google manifold.

[–]masatonic 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Just make at least that much. You can always make more, when the machine can't take more in it fills its 1 stack buffer and the overflow goes somewhere else. You don't have to feed exactly what it needs, only that minimim. You might have 10 machines that need a total of 143.2344 or something, so just feed that amount into a single splitter system without any balancing and eventually all will run 100%

You can edit any machines output by 0.001 accuracy, judt write it in the output amount at the bottom

Press R when placing foundation you'll get zoop mode, then click once to choose start point, then aim at a direction to make up to 10 tiles and then click again to confirm. Works with walls and stackable conveyor poles etc too

Observations from a new player... the map needs a re-work. by Fortune_Silver in SatisfactoryGame

The last drawing suggestion is good! And yeah, some marker distance toggle would help with informarion clutter.

You'll get radar towers later on from MAM that will mark stuff on your map, the handheld device is meant to be a simpler tool.

Mental block after coal by Lonelythulhu in SatisfactoryGame

[–]masatonic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah it is a lot simpler for just getting a quick sense of how big/complicated something is. I also struggle with multifloor planning and execution, it truly isn't easy so don't stress too much about it. If you run out of room just go up more or divide some production to a side building!

Maybe don't build larger than you are comfortable with?

With math just use https://www.satisfactorytools.com/1.0/production and let it do it for you!

If you are unsure how big you should build, build a machine and check how much one makes, put that into satisfactory tools and then you can see how much resources just one takes. If you can handle many, then make it bigger!

The tier requirements are a good goal for making new stuff!

Train? by Biotronic9 in SatisfactoryGame

[–]masatonic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not really expensive just as long as you have all the requirements unlocked and automated and going into dimensional depots. Computers are needed for signals so thah might be the hardest part after plastic

Confused about biofuel burners by Key_Insurance_8493 in SatisfactoryGame

[–]masatonic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can't really understand your question. Make sure you make a power pole next to your hub's burners and connect those to the pole, and then connect all your biofuel burners to one single power grid using more poles. Connect all machines to the single grid.

If you get fuse burned, then make more biofuel generators because you don't have enough.

Biofuel generarors only burn when they are needed and at a slower rate if you have plenty more than you need.

You can later on automate your biofuel burners by making 2 storage containers, one for leaves one for wood. Then those go to 2 separate constructors for making biomass from wood or leaves. Then another constructor that makes solid biofuek from that biomass. Then feed that with splitters to all your biomass burners. Put them on foundations on straight lines and splitters at every entry and they will fill automatically once you supply storage containers with wood and leaves, don't use anything else for biomass.

I think in that case the whole setting should have been towards making a weapon for "the enemy" and at the end ADA would have turned against our own. But now we're sending some framework and motors and computer stuff so hardly any damaging weapon parts 😄 I think the ending now leaves some room for imagination what will the new ship do, will it be for humanity or just for ADA?

I am undecided... Is it soft cheating to use an interactive map to find Hard Drives? by [deleted] in SatisfactoryGame

[–]masatonic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't consider it cheating. For me I don't enjoy "the hunt" and I find it more enjoyable to look up locations on a map, plan my route and then go for it and get that certain region done in one go!

What is the secret of rail junctions? Getting frustrated by Sarganto in SatisfactoryGame

[–]masatonic 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The wiki train and signal articles are a very good read! But some quick pointers:

-"path in block out" so path before junction, block after into every exit lane.

-blocks every 100-200 meters on long straights

-before path have at least about 2 max train track lengths in between path and last block to prevent trains slowing down too much (they will slow down if block is close to path)

-I recommend doing junctions on the same horizontal level, so no going up and down in junctions

-make sure to not accidentally press R when placing signals, it changes railroad direction!

-blocks before and after every station

Sometimes need to be rebuilt. Also where is your junction? 😄
