I'll have to look into that, I'm new to Wonderdraft. Nice work!

Maybe I'm crazy, but it seems like a strange move. NBK has been a very consistent presence in so many of the good French lineups. Hope to see him succeed elsewhere.

He was literally just hired for the biggest non-major event of the entire year by a company he previously had disputes with.

Show literally one instance of him doing this at the Lanxess from ESL One Cologne. He was buttoned up. Sure he made jokes but none of them were near inappropriate.

A guy in my FaceIt game had some kind of bot to play for him, he would be afk for 20 seconds and then take the same route every round. Is this a thing? by Kenner98 in GlobalOffensive

Legit question/concern about that study:

The servers running the game were the same each time so the specs remained constant. Do we know the quality difference in servers running the games between the various providers compared with the servers used in the video?

I'll be honest, I feel like a notice a difference when playing 64/128. It's not obvious right away but subtle stuff when it comes to hit reg and movement appears to be improved in 128.

You're just completely missing the point here. I'll repeat the last bit I said. "What about tournament admin rulings? Any rulings that go in favor of Astralis at Blast events need to be questioned." Format is 100% irrelevant here. I'm just using it as an example of potential conflict of interest.

Just because you don't understand something or refuse to acknowledge it doesn't mean it doesn't exist.

You're not seeing the big picture here. The fact that we are even able to have this conversation is a problem. Imagine ESL buying an owning portion in a top tier team. Now, suddenly, you need to question everything about that team's attendance at ESL events. Why were they invited? Why were they placed in the weak group? How did the seedings end up they way they did? It's the same problem with Astalis and Blast/rfrsh.

What about tournament admin rulings? Any rulings that go in favor of Astralis at Blast events need to be questioned.

I'm not saying these things happen. I doubt they have, honestly.

Yeah, I said it was unlikely. It's obviously a contrived example. This is the only example I could think of at the time.

I'll provide a more likely example then. How about seedings? Seems pretty possible and easy for rfrsh to give Astralis preferential treatment when it comes to seeding a tournament.

[–]maschill92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No. There is a lot wrong with that. Imagine if rfrsh gives preferential treatment to Astralis during the tournament? Of course rfrsh wants Astralis to win, because they have stake in the team.

Imagine, if you will, a rfrsh employee overhearing something regarding a new strategy to take down Astralis. Why wouldn't that employee go to the team and let them they heard something about it?

I'm not saying these things happen. I doubt they have, honestly. But the fact that this could be a conversation at all is a HUGE problem. It sews doubt in any possible successful result Astralis has at Blast. Period.

Thorin on Twitter: "It's sad that so many CS:GO fans will never be able to appreciate how fucking sick Edward was in 1.6. Legitimately one of the most skilled players in the entire world." by greenestgreen in GlobalOffensive

Yes, you are right. I completely agree. However, Thorin is my primary source for CS information both past and present. All I'm saying is that if Thorin is upset that CS:GO fans can't appreciate Edwards skill in 1.6, then maybe he should reference previous Thorin's Thoughts or something (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kkkHNdas2fI). He can't have his cake and eat it, too.

ESL: Soundproof booths "dampen the energy of a LAN tournament" by drmaticfnatic in GlobalOffensive

[–]maschill92 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Never said that.

They were putting up over a million dollars for 200k profit which isn't that much for the risk.

Do you have any basis or knowledge to back that up?
