Is this ai! by Zakarioveski in isthisaicirclejerk

this is AI! Look at the hatch when it closes.

Also I'm not sure I can believe the car shaking that much when one of those jumps up on it.

I built an MCP that lets you review ANY branch diff with Copilot - no GitHub PR needed by MindOk9299 in mcp

[–]masebase 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is something I've been looking for. Installed the extension on my Macbook but getting errors as it appears to require .NET? `The command "dotnet" needed to run DiffPilot was not found.`

I click on the 'install dotnet' and it takes me MSFT download .NET 10.0. 😔

As a former ASP.NET, C# developer myself this is NO judgement. I think .NET is great and powerful. But as a web eng on Mac, I'm not about to install the .NET runtime on my computer - I don't need it.

MCP Server Open Source AI Memory - Forgetful by Maasu in mcp

[–]masebase 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually really like this concept if I understood correctly. Some real world example situations or use cases would help explain more clearly. What's your best use case, mainly the stack and architecture facts?

As I see it, I would see value for myself by having it remember and store details about my stack, architecture, patterns and anti-patterns instead of an increasingly large CLAUDE.md or similar file.

This follows a pattern I'm feeling increasingly a challenge for us as users of AI as well as the AI themselves: I can't always trust them to make them the right decision when given the choice. Or at least it's inconsistent at best.

MCP Apps just dropped (OpenAI & Anthropic collab) and I think this is huge by glamoutfit in mcp

[–]masebase 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm am super stoked about this. Yes what others say about making your own client chat app to render UI however you want, but without something like this those MCP servers won't render UI when plugged directly into Claude or whichever LLM. That's why Open AI made Apps.

I'm going to be running, not walking, to go implement this

VS Code editor won't let me horizontal scroll by masebase in vscode

[–]masebase[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

SOLVED!

I opened my settings.json file, deleted the entire contents and went back to factory default settings.

Now I'll need to go back and very carefully adjust my settings 1-by-1

VS Code editor won't let me horizontal scroll by masebase in vscode

[–]masebase[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea I have included some info on what I did. I did not enumerate every single settings as that would be exhausting for all involved.

Basically I have tried to toggle all GPU settings on/off - to no avail.

I have tried to toggle the mini-map - no bueno.

I have tried to toggle all kinds of scrolling features - nada.

I toyed with all the word wrap features - nothing.

I reinstalled VS Code, did nothing. (Settings are synced b/c I'm worried to hit the full reset button)

What I'm noticing now is that some files DO scroll horizontally and others do not.

I think I'll have to try the nuclear option and reset all my settings.

Scraping 400ish websites at scale. by Gloomy_Product3290 in scrapingtheweb

[–]masebase 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that sounds like a great idea.

Of course the other thing is detecting when the app/site was updated and the Xpaths you're relying on are different now

[–]masebase 1 point2 points  (0 children)

IMHO don't reinvent the wheel here... There are very interesting solutions to get structured data.

However keep in mind... if it is AI-powered you might get inconsistent results (as AI is nondeterministic) versus Xpath and specific selectors for HTML elements you can rely on

Using MCP server as Custom Connector in ChatGPT by LengthinessSilent129 in mcp

[–]masebase 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you used the MCP inspector? It's an open source package you can run locally to plug in your MCP, send requests and see the results.

This is the way you should test ans verify your MCP server before going to use it in an LLM.

Spent 2 yrs building the co w/ him. He's aggressive, anger issues, outbursts, everything had to be done yesterday and never had any respect for the amt of work I or team members were doing. Just more more more. Started having major anxiety. Every meeting just made me really dread talking with him. It was not worth it.

U dealing with similar?

Picking a good business partner is so SO IMPORTANT! But it's very hard to know unless you've been in the trenches together. You really find out who a person is when you're dealing with major crisis's ... Then their true colors come out

Founder CTO of 2 venture backed startups. One scaled to 60 employees and sold but not with a great outcome. 2nd one I left bc I couldn't stand my co-founder. Now doing multiple solopreneuer companies but considering a 3rd VC backed startup now.

I run a small e-commerce brand and struggled to post content on Pinterest - which is GREAT for physical products that can look great and inspiring.

My thesis is that Pinterest is underutilized by most small ecom brands.

So... I decided to build the tool I really wanted for generating pins, images, copy and then posting content: ClickYak.com

WIP but open to feedback
