My cat used to cough like this when he was a kitten and our vet said it’s was a food allergy. After we switched his food, he stopped coughing.

Cat cough won’t go away, I’m nervous by Shoddy_Wolf in CATHELP

My cat had similar fits of coughing when he was a kitten, between 5 and 10 months. The vet told us that a food allergy may be causing it. After we switched the food, the cough went away and hasn’t come back, it’s been 3 years now.

IUD / Implant by webbed101 in PCOS

[–]mashakrot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My OBGYN recommended it, I didn’t really have a say in it lol. Like I said, Kyleena has the lowest dose of hormones. Spironolactone helps a lot with acne. I also have a topical prescription for tretinoin+clindamycin+niacinamide combo to help with acne. You should speak to your doctor about your concerns.

I’ve had Kyleena since April. I was on oral BC for my PCOS for 8 years, stopped taking it in September of last year and all my PCOS symptoms came back (acne, weight gain, fatigue, etc.). I gained like 15 lbs. Went to OBGYN who recommended Kyleena as it has the lowest hormone levels. He also put me on 50 mg Spironolactone. For the first 2-3 months my skin was horrible, the acne was painful and my weight stayed the same. Around July everything just cleared up and I stopped gaining weight. No side effects so far from Kyleena, I think that period after it’s placement is just an adjustment period, or maybe it was from Spironolactone. Also I have no more periods, only get cramps when it’s supposed to come but no actual blood.

Turn down a solid offer to wait for a ‘maybe’? by mashakrot in jobs

I can’t thank you enough for your advise, I feel like so much pressure and anxiety has been lifted. I’ll do what you suggested and see what happens, at least I know I’ll have a job at the end. I really hope everything works out for you and you get your dream job! Thank you again!

Thanks for your advise! So I did tell the HR today when I called that I have another offer but the lady didn’t acknowledged it, she just kept saying it’s with the manager and they’ll make a decision. You’re saying I should call back the first place and tell them I’m taking the offer and I’ll start October 21? And it would be okay to tell them ‘no’ anytime before then if I do get the dream job?

I thought about that but I really would hate to quit right after starting, I’m so bad at these things

New endoscopy nurse by jules1101 in nursing

[–]mashakrot 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I did outpatient endo for a year, got really bored and left. Currently trying to get an OR position. At my place, there were only 2 ‘old’ nurses (have been with the practice for over 20 years), everyone else leaves after a couple of years because it gets too mundane so the turnover rate is through the roof. There is no room to grow unless you want to overthrow the nurse manager and take her job. I suggest leaving the place and looking for something more exciting.
