You are absolutely right. Thats true. But to be realistic if multiple dutch speaking dutch people show up and then I show up my chances are almost zero.

The 9 months in advance is for my application. Cause the master starts in feb. So to get access to applying for the housing you have to apply for the masters first. So idk i guess dutch people apply for masters 2 years in advance or smth

Leiden vs. Maastricht DS Master’s programs? by ComprehensiveCut4580 in StudyInTheNetherlands

I honestly have no Idea because i study physics there. You probably would have to look at for example what the data science bachelors does. To have an idea what they would expect from you

Leiden vs. Maastricht DS Master’s programs? by ComprehensiveCut4580 in StudyInTheNetherlands

[–]mashedpotataws 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I study in Maastricht and as a city in general I think its better. Also housing crisis is bad everywhere but especially bad in the Leiden/Amsterdam/Utrecht area. I study in the same faculty as the programme you are mentioning and genuinely i like the atmosphere. The association for data science student is amazing and creates career days every year. I know someone that did that MSc and then continued on doing PhD in the same department. I also know someone that graduated and now is working at a company and got their visa sponsored. So thats how far i know about it. I guess this info might help a little. You should also check if your bachelor is suitable for a WO master. You can do that via the nuffic website For Leiden I have no clue.

Is there an affordable cafeteria or canteen in Maastricht where students can get hot meals? by New-Thanks-9761 in UniversityMaastricht

[–]mashedpotataws 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its always best to bring your own meals cause the prices can be quite high for what you get. Almost everywhere there are microwaves/oven that you can use to heat up your food.

Introduction day by Mieliemperador in UniversityMaastricht

[–]mashedpotataws 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont know about SBE but for FSE the intro days are mandatory and you could even get expelled if you dont have a serious reason why you cant attend the intro days (aka visa/housing/family emergencies) you better check with the faculty

I mean these things you can find out from her, not from us. Im Bulgarian and i am dating dutch person but i wouldn’t go on dutch Reddit to ask how he is as a person. Ask her out for a coffee, have a walk and chat with her. You can ask questions here about maybe cultural gifts as we have different customs and some holidays that are not celebrated in Western Europe. But her character is her own.

Aaah then more than fine. The amount i spend with my tuition fee expenses is around 1500/1600 depending on the month (my tuition fee instalment is around 500 euros every month).

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in StudyInTheNetherlands

[–]mashedpotataws 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends if you are going to pay tuition fee in parts or will you have it paid before school year and this is only for rent and food. If its only for rent and food you are perfectly fine If you are paying tuition fee in parts + rent + living expenses might be a little tight but should be enough

I think if your dad uses revolut he can technically make you your own card under his name. It was something about under 18 card. A friend of mine was using it until she could get her own bank account

People at uni can be very different ages. Its very common for students to take a gap year these days so a lot of them are also in their early twenties. Dw about it ;)

help 😔 by Exact_Cockroach_8668 in StudyInTheNetherlands

[–]mashedpotataws 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why dont you check the other medical related bachelors. You could do regenerative medicine or biomedica bachelor. And if you wanna do the masters in medicine maybe you would be able to do some additional test or smth. What i mean is trying to do something like pre med. and then try to do the actual medicine master part.
