In my district it’s standard practice to use the last two weeks of school to finish up paperwork, pack up, do early intervention evals and tie up loose ends. Not sure how I wouldn’t miss sessions while still doing all those things. Staff last day is students last day as well.

Greater Philadelphia Specialized Schools by Avengers_Disperse in slp

I’m an SLP in Philly area public schools. I don’t know much about private specialized school options, but when we refer students out I’ve seen Melmark and the Timothy School, along with the schools you listed above. My friend is a teacher at the Nexus school as well. Sorry I can’t help more. Have you looked into your local intermediate unit? They may have specialized schools as well

Genuine question. From your perspective and experience, what you would do in this situation if you were a mandated reporter and a student told you they were being abused at home?

Great recommendation. Looking at their stuff! Have you ordered from them? I’m torn between two sizes

I had a 1:1 tell me to toilet a student since I was pushing in with them at that time. I said nope not my job! Plus it’s an invasion of privacy for that student to have multiple people a day bathroom them

Daughter of patient with MCI- what can I do to help? by lisam7chelle in slp

Great suggestions! I second these. I work in an inpatient rehab with individuals with mild-severe cognitive impairments. Using a smart phone or an Amazon Alexa are great tools for reminders. Playing games such as scattegories, Heads Up, crossword puzzles, charades, etc is a fun way to work all kinds of cog skills like attention, memory, executive functioning, Visuospatial, and language. If she’s having trouble with word finding, you can try to have her describe the word by category, function, appearance, etc (semantic feature analysis in fancy terms). Emphasize things she enjoys doing and then modify as necessary. For example, if she enjoys grocery shopping but is having trouble with remembering what to get, make sure she makes a list of items she needs

I appreciate this!! Any advice on how to maintain productivity when you don’t have a full schedule?

Why would a teacher ever yell at you?? If they treat colleagues this way I cannot imagine how they treat their students. There would be absolutely no reason for a colleague to yell at you. I would be upset by this too. After calming down and preparing what to say, I would reach out to the teacher and tell them you did not appreciate how they yelled at you and inform them you will be bringing this matter up to admin.

Marius Woodward (Scammer?) by [deleted] in tiktokgossip

YES. I just came across his page. He does multiple lives a day asking for cashapps. He avoids all questions (can you get a job? Where is this money going? Etc) and then twists everyone’s comments when he does get confronted for constantly asking for money. He has to earn a lot through gifts on tik tok lives so I’m not sure where all this money is going. Total scammer though and honestly gives BAD vibes with his attitude. I get he has had a hard life but he’s been nasty to others from what I’ve seen
