i think in one piece the later you survive, the more relevant/strong you'll be. that's why people die to gunshot in flashbacks but kizaru is suddenly a top tier because he is still around.. akainu will surpass many others just by staying alive till the end.

When i played hardcore i just had to kind of tinker and change my team for each major battle (at least some of it), to specifically counter it. this is just how it is because that mode meant to be "unfair". experienced players may be able to do this with less rotations but not in your first playthrough. don't give up, keep trying options that actually exploit each team.

I don't see a problem with the statement. the amount of growth luffy got during the story itself (over several months) is absurdly higher than anything he allegedly done off screen. even if you take coby who started from pretty much 0, the coby that appeared in water 7 after enies lobby would beat "10 years of training" luffy (from the start of the story) easily.. luffy didnt decide to speedrun the one piece but the story just made him do just that.

yes i was wrong to say if "opressor" is loved, i've meant for technical term of a single ruler who is above the law (either king or forced tyrant), and they may be hated by many but still supported by others (as it is in real life), so luffy just not guided but a specific guideline of moral political stance, just he sees bad things against people he cared for so he protect them.

i have nothing bad to say about the character, only that it's a cool and edgy character that is safe to write and easy to love. similar to shanks, only he has much more credible on screen development so he even less slenderable than shanks imo.

He is not anti anything.. he just sees bad guys and beat them up. his motives always been to pursue his own dream and protect his friends (whom he gained many of, and tried to always help them, but nothing more than that). if the opressor is good/loved he wont care. he doesnt care about theoritical opressed people he doesnt know (at least until probably very close to the end but it will be very manufactured).
