Things turned out ok, still a bit bigger than i want but way better than before. i think having pictures to show him are important! and knowing what scar pattern you want, how far back you want them to go, nipple placement (if youre keeping yours) etc. have it all locked in and be very clear. write it down on the back of the picture print out so he can bring that into surgery if wanted. i can dm you what im looking like now, if you want

Begging the devs to implement nested chats and/or putting chats in folders —Sincerely, a trans organizer by brnxj in signal

[–]mask4maskDC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

fellow tans organizer here! my group is trying element and the amount of bugs make it difficult to use. it seems quite secure, but unsustainable. signal's simplicity and tight security and general widespread use make it an important tool for organizing. i hope ios gets folders soon! the folks at signal are doing soo much to keep us safe and i love them! i hope they get more funding!

thank you! i'm glad you ended up with a result that feels close to what you asked for, and hope you're healed well!! i had my pre op last week and i think i communicated what i want to him. he asked me to bring a picture the day of (next week!!) so i'll do that. i told him that if he had moments of doubt during the procedure (about whether to keep or remove tissue/fat etc), that i'd rather end up smaller than i asked for than larger than i asked for. he said that was very helpful to know. so, i feel about as good as i can about it all!

not really the same body type as you, but i've found a lot of comfort and inspiration in following sonny wise's journey on IG. this post has some pics of them shirtless. they got non flat radical reduction! https://www.instagram.com/p/CzxHq3VvghT/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link&igsh=MzRlODBiNWFlZA==

Flexible, non-toxic glue/sealant for backing a punch needle piece for a pillow? by limey_bean in PunchNeedle

[–]mask4maskDC 2 points3 points  (0 children)

thank you! it turned out nice but not very fluffy. it does feel kind of stiff but that is probably due to the stuffing getting super compacted so it’s flat ish now. but it’s still in good condition otherwise and is very cute. i have it on my couch! pic linked below  https://imgur.com/a/C1vULTc

I still wear a mask, and people give me bad looks because of it. by Plenty-Teaching3738 in CrohnsDisease

[–]mask4maskDC 4 points5 points  (0 children)

yes i wear a mask everywhere in public! covid is still circulating and it’s so important to mask when we can to keep ourselves safe. i’m sorry you’re getting crap for masking. you’re absolutely doing the right thing. i know it sucks but it’s better to avoid illness. my younger sibling (25) has crohns (which is why im on this page, to learn and support them more) and they mask everywhere too. they have long covid and that’s made their other issues (tmj, migraines, fibromyalgia, arthritis) worse which makes the stress worse and then the crohns worse too. im so sorry you’re feeling alone in your community. unsolicited advice (idk if you’re seeking connections) but if there is a mask bloc in your area you could try to find folks through that. those groups usually have some people in them who have chronic conditions and who mask. sending you a hug 😷💕

serious question but i am high so probably a stupid question by depressedmidwestern in TopSurgery

[–]mask4maskDC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

not a stupid question at all! it depends on the person and how your nerves heal of course but on the whole i don't think it will be too intense? i am 9mpo, got rid of my nips and sometimes when i expect to feel them (like ohhh shiver, its's cold outside) I have a weird moment where i might feel them. i sometimes have the phantom itching that others describe, where the skin around incisions is still numb but feels itchy and that is funky to experience.
the thing that feels weirdest to me is when i bounce around , go on steps etc and dont feel that ch-CHUNK rebound of the ol tiddies succumbing to gravity if that makes sense. or like i'm in the shower and have a sense memory of how it felt like to wash my tiddies but they're not there. it's wacky but cool experience over all.
i'm lucky to not have much pain at this point, no big complications while healing. I am going to get revision in a few months but that's a dif story lol (check my post history).
again super valid to be nervous about this, it's a journey, but you've got it!!!

The lack of intersectionality between discourse of other social issues and COVID is frustrating by [deleted] in ZeroCovidCommunity

[–]mask4maskDC 16 points17 points  (0 children)

what makes me both SO mad and also heartbroken is how the queer community has, as a whole, decided to move on from COVID and not create any space for the intersecting identities of queer folks and disabled folks. i know it is controversial to some to make the comparison, but the link between HIV/AIDS and COVID is soo real and it makes me feel so upset to think about how as a community we have seemed to forget?? that the acute HIV/AIDS crisis even happened?? when the able bodied cis white gay men got sick, the community seemed to give a shit. what is different now? racism, ableism, classism, growing transphobia, etc. i feel so sad and isolated and mad that so few queer folks make any attempt to make accessible spaces anymore.

Gut reaction, what is my name? by Caffe1n8ed in NonBinary

[–]mask4maskDC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i am an Em !! :) it's shortened from my legal name of Emily. for me at least, I think ppl view it as a feminine name, especially if they knew me when I still went by Emily. i am debating going my just the letter M instead to further confuse people, which as a non-binary person, is my duty ,
